Yes, the teperature dropped dramtically, it was 80 at 4am today! And the pool was 88 at 10 am. Late night for me, we went downtown (Phoenix) and saw Ringo and the All Stars, a very good show, except Ringo can't sing and appears to be the whitest man on the dance floor, but the others were really good. Sheila (or as Ringo called her Sheiler) E can really play some drums. The rest of them were from other bands, one of them sang In the Living Years, one of them was Colin Hay from Men at Work, one of them was front man for some 80s bands that I never heard of and did 2 numbers, one I didn't recognize at all, hmmmm where was I in the 80s? We got home at 11, but I couldn't sleep till 1am, then I got up at 3 because of Sadie, DH insisted she needed to go out, she was sound asleep but got up at 4. So that hour I was awake, too. But I went back to bed and woke up at 10!!! So right into the pool for some sun, gotta keep the tan going.

I agree that some upholstery work is easy. I don't use a staple gun, we have an electric tacker for carpet, so I used that to do my DR chairs. It is a lot easier to use in that it has a trigger rather than a whole hand type shooter. Now I have to concentrate on sewing and painting. We haven't decided on what color to paint, yet. And window treatments! I know what I want to do, but it's in my brain, not at any store. I want to make shutters out of some type of fret work, can you tell I watch too much British home DIY shows?

Sorry you missed POTC, SB, I can not wait for Dec 2 when it comes out. I like it so much, I may buy 2 copies! Oh I also won tickets to Cold Creek Manor,l it looks too scary, but for free wil will go to the sneak preview next week.

E! What a wrap up. Hopefully when Juan returns, he will be up to speed. Happy BD to Luis, when ever it is, too.

I agree crockpot is definately the way to go when you're constantly running. I've vowed to use mine more this week...as we're right out straight again this week....


kids are acting up....a sure sign DH is out of town......i actually used the "S" word today......sure got their attention, but I felt like a heel for yelling....so we're going to McD for dinner.

Chair is half done, will finish tonight while I watch the race for a glimpse of my DH!!!

Marsha - sounds like you are getting back at some DISing to me! I thought you are supposed to be RETIRED! You have too many projects going on.

I played the saxophone for 9 years and loved marching band, except for our senior year when 2 of our schools merged and they didn't keep either band director. They chose the orchestra leader! What ****** idiots decided that one, I'll never know. Senior year really sucked. My nephew is in the marching band for my school district, so I will go to quite a few games this year. Halftime is the best part of the game!

My DS had his first soccer game for the fall today, and the girl next door is on his team. They were so excited about that. He is getting much better, but needs to get a little more aggressive.

Getting ready for the wedding tonight - we are running late, so we are just going to the reception.

Saw the previews for the Haunted Mansion movie coming out in November - has anyone seen it yet? It looks great!

Elaine-I actually have 2 crock pots in different sizes.....sad ain't it?
I used to use mine often when it was just DH & I because we both worked full time & it was easy to come home to dinner all cooked & ready to eat.

Evening All....

Getting quite late here so no time for a catch up sorry! I've read everything you've all written tho' and sounds like there is a lot of fun albeit busy things going on in the lives of the Angels - so, Enjoy!

Went to visit the girl who is coming to Romania with me this evening having spent a good few hours today sleeping off a migraine (yuck!). She is getting very excited but she has left all the organising up to me and I'm just getting stressed

Finally met her BF though which was interesting!

Jon had a funny phone call whilst I was asleep. A man called trying to offer us a brand new state of the art kitchen. Jon explained we didn't want to buy a new kitchen. Here is how the conversation went:

Jon : But we don't want to buy a new kitchen thank you.
Man : Did I say buy? No this is a fabulous offer you cannot refuse!
Jon : Well you would be best to talk to the new owners as we have just sold this house and we are moving out.
Man : I don't believe you! You are just trying to get me off the phone!
Jon : No, we accepted an offer at the beginning of this week....
Man : Why are you doing this? Why won't you listen to the great offer?! Why are you lying to me?!!

At this poing Jon stated again that he wasn't lying and then hung up! LOL, gotta love salespeople (no offence to anyone here who is )

I have made a lot of progress on my projects. All but 4 or 5 of my auctions are written. I'll fire them off tomorrow. I'm watching my Sooners play football. I cut out the lining for the bag, pinned it together, and I hope to put it together later tonight. I have my paint and brush out and the cabinet dusted, but haven't painted yet. May wait until the morning to tackle that one in the daylight. I haven't watched any movies, but I plan to pop one in the DVD player when the football game ends.

The football game is over and we won. Go Sooners! I deserved that after the stomping I watched on Friday night. LOL!

I lined the bag for Amy. She'll be so happy when she sees it. She wanted it so she would have a bag to carry her music, her flute case, her polishing cloth, etc. She says it's hard to keep it all together and other girls have bags to put it all in. I got a canvas bag with a denim bottom and lined it with wild fabric (peace signs, flowers, LOVE, etc). It looks like something she'd like.

I also cut off David's favorite pair of flannel sleep pants, since he wore out the knee. Tomorrow morning I'll hem them to make some sleep shorts, so I'll have something for him, too. He's been sad that he couldn't wear them anymore.

I also picked up a little in the living room and threw in a load of laundry. Guess I'll put them in the dryer and maybe they'll dry before I go to bed.

I'm headed to pull out a DVD. Thought I'd watch at least part of a movie before I call it a night. I can finish whatever I begin while I'm painting tomorrow morning. I'm skipping church since everyone else in the family won't be here to go with me.

One of our bichons, Sasha, is crying at the front window. She wants the family to come home. I wish I could make her understand.

Morning Angels and TMWLT!

Just getting ready to go pick up the kids from Auntie Laura's! She said my DD woke up at 2:30 this morning but went back to sleep. Had a nice time at the wedding reception last night, we were running too late for the wedding. Today we are going to the Pittsburgh Irish Festival. It has been going on all weekend. Our favorite group is "Gaelic Storm" who was in the movie Titanic. We actually know the members now and they remember us each year.

Gaspode - CONGRATS ON 500 !!!!!! What a funny conversation your DB had! I personally could never be a salesperson.

MP - I'm sure David will be so excited about his new shorts!

Steph - sorry, I don't drink coffee or else I'd make you some.

Gail - I've been rooting for the Red Sox - what a great game yesterday!

LOL! I am not the world's best sewer and I'm not the worst either but.....I really hated sewing on the Girl Scout patches. They were so THICK it hurt my fingers to sew them.........then I realized I could hot glue em on!!!! It worked great!!
