Disney, an Aniversery and Morning Sickness? Update post #48 p.4

Great so far! Can't wait for more updates! I've done WDW pregnant twice! I was a little worried last year when we started planning our trip since it seems like everytime we go I end up being pregnant for the trip, but no more wee ones for us. Looking forward to going without the kids in Feb.!

Hi Neighbor :wave2: I can't believe that I did not stumble upon your report earlier! This has been alot of fun to read. Can't wait to hear more.

Seems like there are quite a few people on here from Maryland! Hello Neighbors!

Okay well I meant to update yesterday and never got around to it, so I'll do it now before bed.

We are in our room, which is a nice pool view room, with a king bed, perfect for me and hubby. The luggage arrives and we head out of the room. I realize I forgot to check on my water I had had delivered so we head to the concierge desk, plus we want to make some reservations. We head over and my water is there and someone will deliver it, we don't need to be in the room for that, yay! We make an extra reservation for Boma dinner Friday night (this will change later) and Boma breakfast on Tuesday (of the following week). We then head off to find Mara and get lunch.

Well the food at Mara was good, we got the shrimp platter and the soup and salad combo, plus apples with carmel as desert (since we figured they worked as nice snacks). The service was really slow, but it was better on all the other days so it just seemed like a bad day, overall I'd give the food 4 stars and the service on average 3 stars.

After finishing lunch we headed to Animal Kingdom (we may have actually done the concierge here rather then before lunch but I can't remember they happened around the same time though). We took the bus since it was such a short ride over there. We got there and headed in. I realized I had forgotten to bring my hat, from home, so we stopped and bought a hat for me and a coin holder for hubby for the pressed pennies, I also made my first pin trade. We had brought a bunch of pins to trade for others, which we did throughout the vacation it was a fun way to get new pins.

We then headed over to the Lion King show, not on purpose mind you, we just happened to end up in the area when it was starting so we headed in. It was good, it would have been better if we hadn't seen The Lion King on Broadway, since there is no comparision between the two, but it was cute and well done. We then headed out and learned why Animal Kingdom sucks. You have to go through the center area to get anywhere (okay not for every section but for most of them). So following the huge crowd of people we headed out of the area and into the next area we were interested in, the Safari ride. We looked at the line, we looked at the fast pass, which was due in 40 minutes, we got a fastpass and decided it was snack/break time. Had a break, browsed a few stores and headed on the ride. It was fun. The storyline is lame but the animals are nice.

We got off, and headed to do the trail. We had gotten about half way through the trail when I realized I really had to go pee. So we moved quickly through the rest of it, not looking at much figuring we would be back later (I never came back hubby did come back to Animal Kingdom one day without me though). After the bathroom break we started heading out of the park. Caught our bus and got back to the hotel fairly easily.

Headed to our room where I rested for awhile before dinner while hubby did some stuff, I think he read or explored, but I'm not sure I was sleeping. Overall we didn't get a ton done, but Animal Kingdom was fun and we enjoyed it.

Up Next: Boma, exciting food? or just not our style?

So I talk to hubby, because we need new luggage, or year old cheap bright blue Target suitcases have been seriously banged up (poor bags, they are bright blue to be easier to find, no one has bright blue bags). .

HEY! I have bright blue bags! I got that wonderful Target luggage on clearance! Two sets for $10 each! You can't beat that! :cool1:

It was both ;) . The layout sucks. The park itself is fairly interesting and fun, but the layout so could have been done better, the walking to the center hub to get to any other area was a pain, but the park itself and rides and animals were neat.

Hey! We're waiting to hear about Boma . . . :surfweb:

Okay so it is dinner time. We get ready and head downstairs, we stop first at the concierge desk because we have a question about the plus options, finding out that visiting anywhere twice costs more then the plus option we add it to our ticket since we have plans to visit DisneyQuest at least twice and maybe one of the waterparks (we never get to DisneyQuest oops, but we do get to two waterparks so we use it), our reservation is for 9pm, but we get there at 8:30 since it was right downstairs and we were ready. Check in and take a beeper thing. It is fairly busy, but it only take about 10 minutes before we are called. So we follow the hostess to our table. We have a window seat which is nice. We do have free dining for this trip, but we have decided to pay out of pocket for this meal to save our TS meals for other meals during the week (we end up with 4 extra TS at the end but that is a different story). So our waitress comes to the table and asks what drinks we want, I get a Sprite, hubby get the Amber beer. She also sees we have a food alergy at our table (hubby is alergic to meat, yes it is an odd alergy, he can eat fish, but no other meat) so she tells us she'll have the chef come out and talk to us.

So we wait and about 5 minutes later Chef TJ heads over. He takes us through the buffet and points out all the things that DH can eat. There is a bunch, though some of it is stuff he won't eat like the mushroom soup, he doesn't like fungi. So we go through the buffet, I pick up various dishes, he picks up a salad, potatoes, corn and rice. We sit down and start eating. Now to be fair I am sure Boma's food is very exciting if you don't normally eat out at various ethnic restaraunts. Unfortunately we do, a lot, especially Indian since DH is half Indian and we have actually visited India, I have also lived in Israel for 10 months, so I'm used to real middle eastern, asian and even african food. Boma was okay, if we hadn't been use to spicer more ethnic food, rather then the americanized verisons, I am sure it would have been a lot better. As it was the falafal was lacking, the spices in most of the foods didn't seem to be there and we weren't overly impressed. On the other hand, TJ came out and told us not to get too full he was making something for us.

And boy did he, he came out with a huge wok sized specially made dish for DH. It was a mix of various veggies, it was amazing, it was great, if it had been what was served at Boma, we would have been in love, unfortunately it was a special thing, but dang was it good, one of the best things we ate the entire week. After eating through the huge Wok, I had some desert and headed upstairs before hubby, he waited around to thank Chef TJ again and ended up with fried oreos which he brought up to the room, dang those were good too. Our server Alison was also great. Overall though we decided we really didn't think we wanted our second dinner reservation at Boma, since there was no way to guarentee a homemade treat from TJ, and the regular food just didn't excite us.

We decide in the room that while TJ was great Boma was just not somewhere we wanted to go again for dinner, so we debate where we want to go to dinner on Friday night. Narcoossee's was one of hubby's choices when we were looking at menu's we had decided on Artist's Point instead but we decided to add Narcoossee's back in for Friday night since we weren't going to do Boma. So we then read a bit and headed to bed, overall a decent day and great meal with Chef TJ's dish. (Overall I rate Boma 3 stars, the food that was specially made was 5 stars, but since that was a special thing, Boma gets 3 stars).

Up Next: Day 2, hmm where shall we go today? How about MK?
