Disney After Hours

To me, the guarantee of having EMHs outweighs the cost. I'm starting to plan out our initial itinerary now, with our ADR window coming up in a month.

Las year, we found ourselves scrambling on 12/30 to fit in all the rides we didn't go on during the one late-night EMH they hosted. Look, we know going into Christmas we won't see and do everything we want, but in past years we've come very close. Not having as many EMHs last year really hurt. Gone was the random night during our trip that my sister and I stay at MK until 3am. Aside from the rides, roaming MK late at night led to some memorable conversations and bonding. We all agreed that we'd be open to paying the $150 to stay late at night once if Disney isn't gonna offer it.

I think that's an important item to note. The EMH days were reduced well before DAH came about. I really think the low crowds during EMH are part of what hurt EMH. Every loved them because they were crowded but what does not crowded tell Disney? Not popular

As opposed to seeing something WDW offers and complaining that it used to be free and pouting and stamping my foot until WDW does what i want it to? Except it's not really the same because while the crowds may have thinned late, there was no real guarantee thy would?

Yeah, I think there's a lot of value in knowing the crowds will be insanely small rather than hoping they're just reduced. And there's value in seeing something WDW offers and deciding -- independent of the past or other experiences--whether it's a good deal for my family. Seven (or even 4) to 2 seems to be a good deal, especially when the crowds are forcibly reduced for the last three hours.

It doesn't matter what they've done in the past, all that matters on a go forward is what they are doing now. And if you think that if DAH fails, WDW will just stay open later as a reparation for trying something and it not working, I think you'll end up disappointed.

Just disappointed that EMH and longer hours are cut back while crowds increase, and WDW response is for a money grab with extra fee events, people accepting paying more for less and some paying more for access taken from regular hours.
