It's seems to be pretty similar to EMH but 3 hours. And the price seems kind of insane at $149 but that's expected with Disney and they would want to only have a select group of people to go so the lines really are short. I think it's a crazy idea. Thoughts?

If I could only go for one day and it was just me and my husband I might do it, especially since you can get in as early as 7pm. So to go from 7pm to like 2am for $150, knowing that three of those hours would be very limited attendance might be a plus. If they oversell it though it would be a no go.

Well, when you consider that there is a market for their Premium VIP tour at $400-$600 per hour and their personal tours at around $300 per person per day it's not hard to believe that they've identified and audience that will pay $150 for 3 hours. It maybe not you or me but obviously someone pays these high prices.

I can see pros and cons to this new additional cost activity Disney announced. It's a lot of money but at least unlike the VIP tours, you do not need to have park admission and if the crowds are low you can go through most of MK especially if they let you in around 7 p.m. when you could actually focus on the low wait lines attractions while the park is still filled with regular guests. I'm a bit disappointed that this news comes off as Disney taking away something that was free like EMH but I won't lie, I think I'd be willing to pay the fee to max out the number of attractions and take an extra day at the resort for some R&R. We'll see how it plays out when they launch, if it's like some of the parties where they had a hard time controlling people without hard tickets then it will definitely not be worth it.

I'm holding out for the 6 hour $300 tickets.

10pm to 4am. Not even getting off 7dmt so it will be a plenty long ride then.

The question is, what do they consider limited attendance. That's what they say about MNSSHP and MVMCP and they are by no means empty parks during those parties.

I wouldn't do it if the crowds were anywhere near as crowded as the parties. I am curious to see what the attendance is.

This happens on non-EMH nights. It also costs $149. This is a very limited capacity event.

Is there somewhere where it clearly talks about the limited capacity beyond "admission to this special event is limited"? Because limited could as easily mean 90% capacity as 10% and the Christmas and Halloween parties are described as limited too. So I'd caution against buying $150 tickets assuming it will be quiet without a better understanding of how many tickets are available.

They haven't been specific as to how many tickets will be sold. There was a rumor that it would be around 3,009. In the blog post it says it will be very limited.

If it was that few then I think we're talking about a very different experience than say 15,000.

But, if Disney won't actually say, I'd be worried about them selling extra tickets.

I think it depends on how well it sells. If they can only sell 3,000 then it will be that. But if they have enough demand for more than that they will allow more tickets to be sold.

Keep in mind the whole park will not be available so getting it "all" done with low attendance..if that even really is what they plan, will be unlikely.
***If you use a site like touringplan.com and their app to tour ..you plug in what you want to do and how fast you want to move, they tell you when to do it..you can get it all done even when crowded. We tried this last trip and was great! ..Also for the hot Mine train..Early breakfast gets you on that side of the park first thing so you can ride with no line no fastpass on at least a couple things if you time it right...

Plenty of folks saying "don't want to pay then don't". Sure, I agree and I WON'T. But I think those that fear it's a pre-cursor to getting rid of EMH might be on the money and THAT'S where I think a lot of people have a problem. Turning what WAS perks of staying on-site into now paid experiences.

unfortunately, Pete on the Dis unplugged is right in that people will keep going, so Disney will keep charging. At some point, we need to stop going en-masse to convey the point...

Hard to see my myself paying $149 for the basically same thing I once paid $10 to get (15-20 years ago). If you wanted to say that due to inflation it would now be $30...okay.

I'm just not convinced they're going to do anything to EMH. I think this is another way of monetizing their off property guests. But EMH is one of their big selling points for getting people into their on property resorts, and that is a HUGE priority for them. Plus, the survey they just recently sent out floating the idea of a resort fee -- which I think we all know is coming -- specifically said one of the perks paid for by that fee will be EMH.

I tend to think they will leave the EMH as they are, and just monetize them a bit through the resort fee, and then they will have this separate after hours experience as a way of getting off property guests to pay for the same experience.

As I understand it they've already reduced EMH. There are less EMH hours now and depending on who you believe less EMH days. So given they've already cut it back why are you so certain they wouldn't reduce it further in favor of a profitable upcharge (assuming this sells)?

As for the survey didn't it also list wifi, MM+ and the buses so the fee wasn't for EMH it was for anything Disney could think off to call an "extra" to try and make it more palatable.
