Disney After Dark - what should we expect?

It looks like they have added another Star Wars night during the time we are there. Can anyone tell me about this party and whether it is worth the money? How does it affect attendance in the parks prior to the 6:00 start time?

Another question please. If the party starts at 6:00 to they allow re-entry after that time for regular ticket holders that want to see the fireworks? It seems like they would need to but I have never been when an After Dark party is scheduled.

Disneyland's regular hours for the 3rd and 9th is until 9pm.
The Special Event is from 9pm to 1am, with the ability to enter the park at 6pm.
The park will be a normal crowd during the day. Until the locals with AP's and an event ticket arrive after work/school.
During the three hour overlap is when it will most likely be the worst.

$99 for 9pm (6pm) to 1am ..... Well there ya go....... It's Disney and Disney costs $$$$
Since the first one sold out, it's worth it to several thousand fans.

With the parks hours until 9pm, you should be allowed to enter prior to then. Once the After Dark Party begins at 9pm, guest without a wrist band will be asked to exit the park.

Thank you Geemo. This info helps a lot. I don't think the party is right for us. The overlap time is during fireworks so will get a spot earlier than originally planned.

I have another question about the After Dark party. I assume lines to enter the park will be long and slow at 6:00 with people who have party tickets who need to get bracelets. Do they normally have another entrance designated for people who have normal park tickets and no party ticket? I plan to be in the park well before 6:00 but the little ones may be coming back after a swim/rest and want to prepare parents for what to expect.

If it's anything like the halloween party, they might have people with party tickets go to the Special Ticket entrance, which is different from the regular entrances.
This is a guess. I haven't done an after dark party lol. But it would make sense if they did it like this.
