Disney After Dark - The CM phone call

I don't understand what the rush is to get the kids back to class.
Especially in high school, the students like finishing first semester before the holidays, and not having to worry about finals during winter break. The teachers like it because they have winter break to prepare grades, rather than just 1 or 2 teacher work days.

While it's a thorny subject with many people, I think it's safe to say that there are alot of us (especially those of us who have lived and breathed Disney for many, many years) who are getting a little disenchanted by some Disney CM's. If you think back to, say, the 70's - and recall what WDW was like back then, it's pretty easy to distinguish a marked difference in CM attitude. Yes, it's a different time, but I really believe deep in my heart, that Walt Disney wanted guests to his parks to feel welcome and feel special. The best way to communicate that is via CM's. I think, if Walt himself could have overheard the conversations I've had with this particular CM, he would have smoked himself into a frenzy, then fired her immediately.

I think we all would admit that Disney has been slowly, methodically stripping away our guest perks, but when the stripping process is explained by a cold CM, that really stings. I'm just happy that not every CM is like this - it just so happens that the same one ends up calling me all the time. She must handle the calls in my region or something.

I believe a big part of the CM problem began a couple of years ago when they reduced the "Traditions" course that new CM's take from 2 days (or was it even more?) to one day. Now it seems that they just give the CM's the minimal amount of info they can to have them perform their job adequately. Before, all CM's were much better trained in Disney history, resort layout, etc. so that they could better help guests, answer questions, give directions, etc.
