I will be going to Disneyland on the 30th of December. Will probably go for two days. But are the Christmas Celebrations over by then? And if not, are they still as festive and special like pre-Christmas, or are they more town down?
Also, do they do anything for New Years?
Thank you so much guys! Im going as a Graduation present. :cool1:

The Holiday season goes to Jan 3rd. Parades, fireworks, garlands, trees.....ect.

Only thing I know of that is different after christmas is the reindeer fly off on 12/24 to go deliver toys and don't come back...no reindeer round up after christmas.

It will be very, very, very busy when you go - just be forewarned!!

The holiday season officially ends on January 2nd in 2011, so you will still be able to see mostly everything. Santa leaves from the 3 Disney hotels and he leaves from his post in DCA, I think. The carolers leave, also.

The Round-Up is open after Christmas ends, but there have been mixed reports as to whether or not Santa stays there too. And I guess there are no reindeer, but maybe they leave it open for photo ops.

Stay tuned to the thread entitled "Disney at Christmas," which basically covers all the seasonal offerings from when the holidays begin in November to when they end in January.

One thing that I find cute AFTER Christmas is in the Christmas parade.

Mrs. Claus is on a float and says something like, "I hope you have been good this year," (or some other sort of pre-Christmas Santa-ish sentiment, I can't remember exactly what she says). However, AFTER Christmas, she says something like, "I hope you enjoyed your gifts you got this year," (or something post-Christmasy along those lines).

I remember hearing it and thinking, "Hey! That's different than it was before!"

Something fun to listen for. :)

Congrats on graduating,
Dreams

The resort is still very festive after christmas till they take it down on Jan 4th. Our family has gone over New Years holiday for 25 years and its a great time in the parks. We just love it. Its crowded, so get there early, grab your FP and take it easy. If you don't have to rush from ride to ride and can take it all in, its more fun.:santa:

The CALIFORNIA letters are coming down forever on January 4th. The holiday season itself ends on January 2nd this time around (sometimes it ends on 1/4, sometimes 1/3, sometimes 1/5, but this year it's 1/2). It's on the DLR website, and has been circulated around in their e-mails as being the 2nd for months.

So the decor will start coming down before 1/4 - I just didn't want anyone to be confused and think that there will be extra days to enjoy the holidays because it won't be the same thing after 1/2.:goodvibes

Definitely still a VERY fun and festive time to go---

Don't think you'll miss much at all as everyone has said :)

Oo wow u are very brave to go on December 30th! Really you are! :)

The decorations will still be up by the time you go. So no worries!!

Have a great time!! :cool1:

Yep, the Christmas seasons ends the first Sunday in January every year. That's why it's never the same date for consecutive years. Since they can't possibly take down all the Christmas decorations in one night, some still linger, however, the fireworks and parade will not be running.

Er...why is that?! DW and I are going the 30th and 31st and now I'm worried!

We are planning on DCA on the 30th and then getting to Disneyland EARLY on the 31st and staying there, no admittance-closing for us!

DL is notoriously slammed between Christmas and New Years, especially for New Year's Eve.

Ah, okay, I thought there might be something else! I have been to Tokyo Disney on a weekend, so I am not afraid of big crowds. :rotfl2:
