I understand at Pre-fixed meals any “adult child” will be charged the adult price even if they order a kids item.

At other restaurants, such as Skippers, can an 11 year old order an actual kids meal? Or would they also be charged more to get an adult portion of the item?

My 11 year old will be getting the adult portions when needed at the pre-fixed spots but he eats so little I’m curious if kids options are available at other table service options.

My 17 y/o is a picky eater who likes smaller portions. She always orders from the kids menu at Skippers Canteen and it has never been a problem. The last time she did this was last December. I do think it depends on the restaurant but we have pretty good luck with it.

I’m more wondering if a kid (that is a “Disney adult” but kid by most standards) could order an actual kids meal (kids portion) at non pre fixed meals. My 11 year old hardly finishes kids portions, much less adult ones!

Yes, at a la carte restaurants, Disney "adults" can order off of the kids' menu and be charged the kids' price. I recently traveled with a 75-year old who cannot eat a lot at any one sitting and she often ordered from the kids' menu with no issues.

I will add as my son did order off the kids menu at 11 because they had salmon but not on the adult menu . The kids meals at Disney are not the kids meals at local places or chains. They are kids size appropriate portions. If your child eats about half of what they get at many other places you will be OK with the exception of the burger which would be on par with a kids happy meal at MCD. With that my wife and I will get kids meals on occasion when we are not very hungry or sometimes for breakfast as we don’t eat big breakfasts everyday at home,

I mean, I don’t think they’re checking every kid at a restaurant for age. Just ask for a kids menu or order from it confidently like this is what you do, and I don’t see why you would be questioned.

Last week a 25 year old in my party ordered a kids meal at 50s Prime Time with no issue. At Sci-Fi she ordered a kids meal and accepted the option of an adult portion size.
