My friend and I are planning a trip to Disneyland at the end June for 1 week. She has never been and I have been several times before. Each time I have stayed somewhere different. Does anyone have an hotel/motel recommendations? We are on kind of a budget. We are not planning on renting a car so we would like somewhere not too far from Disney, as well as some restaurants and maybe a grocery store close by. A microwave in the room and a fridge are also a must. Any suggestions? Thanks

You may also want to post in the Disneyland planning forum.

We have stayed at Carousel Inn and Howard Johnson's. Carousel Inn has both microwave and fridge and Hojo's has fridge but I'm not sure about microwave.

There plenty of hotel/motels right across the street from DL, Tropicana, BW Park Place, Camelot have both micro/fridge.

There are no real grocery stores nearby, a convenience store is usually in each hotel, but you can get groceries delivered from Vons or Ralphs.

Have fun.

We went to Disneyland last year, and stayed at the Candy Cane Inn. Absolutely loved it. It was a beautiful motel, with it's on private bus system that took us to the park, on the half hour.

A great, complimentary breakfast in the morning. Would stay again. Check their website CandyCaneInn.net.:cool2:

I second the Candy Cane Inn. A great hotel. The bus was perfect. You could come and go so easily.

I just booked the Howard Johnson for $59.00! They have an entertainment card rate that you must call the hotel directly for - the web site quoted our room at $119.00. You can walk to Disney in less than 10 minuets and McDonalds is very close (for breakfast on the way). For the price I would suggest it to anyone. We stayed at HoJo in June at $59.00 and the room was clean (with a fridge), they have two nice pools. Don't wait too long to book - that price sells out. Good luck and have fun!

Damiel, would you explain that entertainment card rate? I don't get what you mean.

Me too - I'd love to know how you get the better rate, do you just need to know the code?

Now that I NEED to go see Wicked I have to find another hotel to book one night at. It doesn't need to be near the DL property, just a nice safe place.
