Hi - I dont think I have a unique problem and hoping someone can offer some advice. We (myself, hubby and DS aged 7yrs) are hoping to go back to Orlando in 2009. On our last trip we visited Disneys All Stars (within our budget) and enquired about rooms with a separate lounge area. Has anyone stayed in one of these?
The reason we NEED two separate room spaces is because my DH has a very bad snoring problem and there would be a 'murder' if we had to share the same room for 2 whole weeks!! We stayed in a suite off ID last year but would really like to stay at a Disney resort, however unable to afford the budget of a Wilderness Lodge when there is only the 3 of us. Any suggestions gratefully appreciated - thanks:banana:

You could stay at one of the DVC resorts in a studio - I know you can rent points off other owners (this is cheaper than renting from Disney) - but haven't done this personally.

have you tried to fix the snoring problem rather that the sleeping arrangements?

you could get two connecting rooms at most resorts but that would be costly, unless you book direct.

Studio is still only one room, it would have to be a 1 bedroom villa. :)

Do you mean the Family Suites at All Star Music? I think they cost about the same as having two rooms there, but they do have some advantages over 2 rooms.

There is a very long thread on th US resorts board. It contains lots of photos and positive feed back. (It does take a while to load because of the photos.)

Here is the US Resorts Thread

I hope it is of interest to you.

Has anyone stayed in the All Star Music suites who could give a quick review of them? Can they be booked in the UK or do you have to go through the US and do they cost more than a room at Port Orleans? Thanks

Thanks for the quick replies (especially the one with the US Thread link). Yes we have tried EVERY known solution to snoring - even surgery which worked for a couple of years but now worse than ever!

I think what ever the solution, it is going to be costly so more than likely we will have to resort to staying off site in one of the 1 bedroomed suites within our budget.

Non eof the regular brochures offer teh extra 'family suites' at disney that I have found but will try Virgin direct and see what they come up with - I am not familiar with the ?DVC process and if you can book flights only and independantly book disney

Thanks

You can definately book rooms through disney and book flights seperately. We stay DVC on our trips at the Beach Club Villas so have to book our flights seperately (although if booking flights seperately with the airline you have to pay the whole cost at the time of booking.) DVC 1 bedroomed suites will be more expensive even when renting out DVC points purely because they are (with the exception of OKW and SSR) attached to deluxe resorts.
If I were you I would phone central reservations at WDW and check the prices of the family suites then look up the airline costs and work it from there. To check the flight only costs use expedia (or a similar site) of check BA and Virgin's websites direct.
