Disney #800 real???

I just tried the number to see if it is still working (9:23 am EDT Thursday) and it is. It's the only number I ever use. The recording begins, "Thank you for calling the Walt Disney Travel Company. You've picked a wonderful time to visit..."

Wanted to make sure it is still working, as it is the only number I have programmed in my cell phone, and I'll be making ADRs next month. :cheer2:

I was wondering why Disney supposedly didn't have a toll free #. Now I know.

By the way, is the # actually as quoted above? (800-828-0228)

Hi all and thanks in advance for your help. I called WDW a couple days ago
(#407-WDISNEY) just checking rates for 4/06 trip, and asked the CM if there was an #800 I could call for reservations and she said no. I didn't press her, thinking the #800 I found on here was a big secret. Isn't the number 800-828-0228?? Is it a real reservations number, and if so, why would she deny it existed??? :confused3 thanks!!
There are 3 numbers for ressies... one is an 800 number. I don't have all of them with me right now, they are at home. Anyway, one of the 407 numbers takes you to central reservations (CRO) 407-934-7639 the other 407 number and the 800 number takes you to Disney Travel. I recommend calling CRO.

I called Yest. and made my ADR's from that #. Got a wonderful CM, Renata. She was terrific! Def. had her ears on!! :earsboy:

That's very true, but how many of those same company have every 7 & 8 yr old calling to speak to Mickey?

One of the first calls I ever got at DRC was from a little girl wanting to speak to Mickey. She Said she was Minnie's cousin and it was an emergency. I told her there was no way I could get to Mickey at the time, but if she'd let me talk to her Mommy, I'd be happy to get some call back information. She hung up.

Having worked for a myriad of Fortune 500 Companies that have toll free numbers, I can tell you that the WEIRDO calls get thru far too often, hence having a guest pay for a call makes complete sense. I mean, serriously, what business is it of Joe Schmoe what color my toe nails are painted or if I prefer thongs over panties. (real calls from HSN's Call center)

Ok, I can see your point about the fruitcakes' calling (thongs over panties???) but the little girl wanting to talk to Mickey was kind of sweet :goodvibes

Sweet, but costly to the company.

I'm getting ready to call - someone - this afternoon. How is Disney Travel different from CRO? Is it still Disney? What is the advantage of calling CRO over Disney Travel?

Since it's a weekend I can use my cell phone with free minutes and free long distance to call CRO, but if I'll be on hold less I'd rather use the 800 #.

the Disney Travel number is for Travel Agents. If you call and ask for help booking a reservation, they will have you call back the regular number, at least they did in the past.

I have never used the 407#. I have booked room only ressie, upgrading it to package, made ADRs, bought tickets for MVMCP, tickets to Cirque, etc. all using the 800#.

I keep track of all my calls for this upcoming trip and it is pathetic. I have called 22 times with ADRs, changes, upgrades, tickets, etc.

Gosh, I am pathetic :)

I remember that the Magic Kingdom Gold Club members had an 800# to call for reservations. Man, how I miss that program.
Any truth about the AP number?
