Hello everyone - sorry been away for a bit.... just had so much going on and then went camping this weekend with the family. Nice to get away and enjoy time together. Hope everyone else is doing well! Thread has been really busy and I'm trying to catch up to you all right now lol

I know been really slow with items lately. Only outstanding I have right now is some general Christmas (not MVMCP one's) and I should have those later this week. Then only other things I have been working on is one's for myself that I want and of course I'll share If I missed something I said I would do please let me know.

The question was ask.... and here is the answer... Tutorial: Using PNG Overlays without Photoshop Hope this is help... I read thru it and seems pretty easy!

I've been trying to catch up on my own scrap booking as well as my 'proper' job.

But the big news is I'm in the process of setting up my own little Facebook business selling hair bows for young girls! I'll eventually be making hair slide, headbands and bobbles with bows in a variety of ribbons. I'm also planning to do special requests and bows in bulk for parties when it gets a bit more popular!

Newlittleminnie - "proper job" I have one of those as well and it really just gets in my way of being crafty and scrapbooking So did you want anymore of those princess cards poems with the other princesses or did that work for what you wanted?

The bow business sounds fun but sure lots of work as well! I wish you great success! I'll have to try and look you up would love to see your handy work!

I think this is the coolest thing ever! I'm planning on printing a lot of these out to use in my scrapbook for my next Disney trip.

I saw a lot of cards for my first Disney trip or my first set of Mickey Ears. I was wondering if someone made one for My First Haircut (I know a lot of people who have waited to have their child's hair cut until they went to Disney)? I tried to look through all of the completed cards (I might have missed it), but I was wondering if you had a card for the Dapper Dans? I was also wondering if you have a card for people who are celebrating wedding anniversaries while at Disney? We're going next year for my parents 41st wedding anniversary.

Again I think that these cards are amazing!

Pixie has gone and done it.. she made me cry! .. She created cards for a Give Kids the World activity: One time during the week that the families are there - Miss Merry and/or Mayor Clayton (Wonderful Rabbits!) will come and tuck the wish child (and any other children in the family that want) into bed! ... She made several cards and they are ADORABLE!!! Again I know these cards will be used in most all of the albums! Pixie you rock!!!!

Craftyladylyn, here are some cards from your off-thread GKTW request - Pirates & Princesses party... I've done one with both , and then one each for Pirates & Princesses - let me know if you'd like any changes or if you'd like more cards with different text. I couldn't fit the word "party" into the joint card, it just didn't look quite right, but if you need it I can give it another go... let me know!

Even though these are designed for GKTW I think they would work very well for any Disney vacation!!

I had a dream last night .. and in that dream I told you all about the process that Crops of Luv goes through to create an album - just so you can begin to understand HOW AWESOME AND IMPORTANT your journaling cards are going to be to this process..

Crops of Luv receives pictures from the wish family (they receive in their welcome packet at Give Kids the World a flyer describing what COL does).. One of maybe two people takes those pictures .. logs them in - assigns a code (wish child's first name .. number of album....) and separates pictures into "events" (Maximum of 13 - 15 2 page spreads) ... those are then placed into oversized zip-lock bags (Corresponding code is written on each bag) - This is now the beginning of this child's album.

The next step is the volunteer's that "pull" .. they take a peek at the pictures .. get a feel for the event and they go through and pull coordinating paper and cardstock and embellishments (and very soon YOUR JOURNALING CARDS) and place them in the bags with the pictures....

Then when there is a crop (or in my case I take home one or two kids packs) - People sign out a bag.. create the two page spread using what is in the bag or their own cardstock/paper embellishments (sometimes I don't know "where" the puller was going with the paper - so I use my own) and then sign back in ... where someone else keeps track and ensures that everything is kept in order ..

Then once all the child's pages are complete .. they are put into page protectors and placed in an album that usually is the child's favorite color (the person sending the pictures fills out a small questionnaire - so we at least know the child's favorite color (to use in the layouts) .. favorite experience, favorite character...)

The albums are then packaged carefully and shipped to the child - they tell the families that it can take up to 10 weeks to receive their album but we really try and turn around in less than 5 (it really depends upon the number of albums that come in - during the Summer months it seems there are many more than some other months)

Sometimes they receive more pictures than can be used .. but sometimes there are so many that are too good not to use that we then create the "waterfalls" .. a flip book on the two page spreads ..

I was telling Pixie in an email that I got to experience watching a child receive her album - we were at a crop and the family - since they were local - came by to pick up their album.. talk about tears!!! She was about 4 and once she started looking at the album .. with her dad and siblings pointing out pictures and asking her "remember when?" ... She was obviously still going through treatment .. in fact when her Dad carried her in he told us she had been feeling puny and he apologized for that... (amazing that families think that they need to apologize!) ... but she became animated and excited .. and then near the end .. she looked up and realized that about 15 strangers were looking at her! Needless to say .. she became quiet and withdrawn and the family left soon after...


I've also had the privilege to participate (as a spectator) in a child's wish..
another AWESOME experience .. If you ever get a chance to do so.. take it!

So that is the short (SHORT?? LOL!) version of what happens in creating an album for a wish child...

I know you all can't tell that I am SO EXCITED about your journal cards! LOL! .. And I'll never (on behalf of Crops of Luv) be able to thank you enough!!

They've given me a "wish" list of Journal Cards - some Disney related, some Give Kids the World related .. and some other .. and as long as you are willing to comply .. I'll keep asking...

There are so many albums that are similar - every album seems to have a Meeting Mickey page.. (I don't know if I told you.. there are a couple of scheduled times a week on the Give Kids the World property where the Disney and Universal characters are there so the kids can meet and get pictures without having to stand in a long line!) ..

So I thank you .. and will continue to thank you!

Craftyladylyn-WOW that must have been awesome to witness! It really is a great gift you are giving! I know my kiddos love to look at pics of themselves and the things we have done. Glad that we can help in a little way to help make this happen for those kids!

While I was adding the Dole Whip cards to my snacks post in the completed cards, I noticed there were no Churros, gasp

So.... here are some Churros cards, now I didn't add any churro sticks into the card as they are not the most visually appealing looking things, delicious though they are, and quite frankly they just looked like M&M were waving floppy sticks around in the air So I left them out

I have a friend who is a "Wish Granter" here in AZ for the Make a Wish organization.. and I was going to get involved with helping her and going that route .. but then I "found" the ladies at Crops of Luv (at a scrapbooking retreat) and just fell in LUV with what they did and just asked "What can I do?" .. they had enough faith and trust even without Pixie dust to hand me an album kit and allow me to take it home and complete it! It helps that the Creator (Jody) has her sister and mom living down here in Tucson! I'm looking forward to receiving one or two albums to do next week (Mom and Sis went up to Phoenix this past weekend) and you know I'll be using the Journal Cards in them!!!

And I will try and figure out how to post a picture or two to show!

Seeing the snack cards that have been done lately has got me thinking. What about a card about eating and/or drinking your way around Epcot?

I tried to search what has already been done, but all I found was some different snacks, and Epcot's Food and Wine Festival. I'm sorry if I missed one that would cover this I did my best to do check everything.

Love the food cards too! We are doing a cupcake crawl & a pretzel crawl on our next trip. Would someone be able to do a card?
We are also hoping to be able to finally experience the famous kitchen sink! I know there is already a card for that so no need for a new one.
