My wife and I might finally make it to UP! tomorrow. There are good theaters in our area that show it in both Disney 3-D and regular. Is it worth the extra couple bucks to see it in 3-D?

How much of the show do you wear the glasses for?:3dglasses

It cost more than that to see up in 3-d here and its not worth it you dont even get to keep the glasses like you used to when you didnt have to pay extra

I saw it in 3D. It was ok - but the 3D effects aren't what you think. Nothing jumps out at you or even floats in front (like it does in Philharmagic, for example.) It just makes things appeared more layered. If that makes sense. You wear your glasses for the entire film.

I have read many reviews and posts from people who saw it non-3D and liked it just fine.

Either way I am sure you will enjoy it. :)

I saw it in 3D and also don't think it's worth extra money. The 3D effects are not like at a theme park - there's nothing jumping out at you. The movie doesn't lose anything without it.

We saw it in 3D and really liked it. I think it was $2 more and they said they preferred you drop the glasses back off but you didn't necessarily have to (although, there's no real need for them at home)

No, there are no tricks, but the depth of the movie in 3D was really cool. I really enjoyed it.

There's no real need to see it in 3D, but if you like that sort of stuff I'd say you would probably like it. You keep the glasses on starting at the 3D movie previews through the entire movie.

I saw it in 3D and really enjoyed it. True there are no popping out of the screen effects but the layering effects make it seem more real. I don't know how much extra it was, but I do know that the theater I go to said to keep the glasses and if I bring them back for another 3D movie in the future I would get $1 off admission next time.

For a total of 4 bucks for two people it is worth it! Ours was 3 extra and 5 people, if I had it to do over I might not spring the extra 15 for it.

I paid $3.50 extra for 3D. It was the only option for seeing the movie in my town.

It was my first non-theme park 3D movie. I enjoyed the extra depth from the 3D effect.

The glasses are worn the whole time. Saw 3D previews for Toy Story and GFrorce.

Rather than putting my glasses in the box for recycling, I kept mine for the next 3D movie I see.

See the thread I started about Up in 3D

My poll was close to tied whether or not to see in 3D

We saw it in 3-D and it was fine. Can't say that I thought it was worth the extra $3.

The best 3-D effects were in the previews, the only time something jumped out at me was when a meatball came flying towards the audience, but I forget the name of that movie. UP is a great movie but you hardly notice the 3-D, like someone else said it's mostly for background. We were too late for the 2-D version so I spent the Extra 20 bucks that it took to see the 3-D instead and while the movie was worth the price, the 3-D wasnt necessary.

Well we are back from the movie. The babysitter was closer to the non-3-D theater, so we saw it without.

Wow! That was a GREAT movie. I didn't need the 3-D to absolutely LOVE IT!. Great message. I don't know how Pixar does it... knocking every movie out of the park. I think I like Up even more than Toy Story.

My wife and I were listening to the podcast as we parked at the theater, and heard about the little girl getting a copy just hours before she passed. That's a great company that will make that happen. Forget 'corporate america' with their cutbacks and striving to show profitability each quarter. Does anyone know, is Pixar hiring?
