Hi there!

We are surprising our kids with a disneyworld trip in feb and cannot wait!
As much as we would love a luxurious resort such as akl or even a moderate resort it simply is t in the budget if we want to spoil the kids onsite.
So our plan is aoa , does anyone have any experience in the beginning of feb, is it quiet enough to get upgrades or special deals such as free dining? Should we book our flight separately when a good price appears or do it as a package?
We are still waiting for the 2014 prices to be released so we can book.
Any tips from those who've done it all will be a huge help and much appreciated!
Thanks!

Not sure about AOA, but based on prior years, 2014 prices usually should be released in the beginning of August. We have been staying in January and February the past few years, and I have always booked around the first week in August, when prices are first made available. Overall, the beginning of February 2012 was pretty slow compared to the beginning of February 2013 was absolutely MOBBED. Part of that was Mardi Gras crowds, but they also added more cheerleader competitions than they had in the prior year.
In terms of discounts, there was free dining offered for 2011 and 2012 stays, both of which were offered about mid-August.
For our Feb 2013 trip, there was no longer free dining offered. Instead they offered a Play, Stay and Dine package offer which still saved us a good amount of money. It wasn't as much as free dining, but pretty close. I was happy with it. Also, the offers came out later - for my Feb 2013 trip, the offers didn't come out until mid-October.
I had booked my package in early August, then made my ADR's. When the discounts came out in October, they were able to quickly and easily apply a coupon code so I did not have to change anything on my original reservation or re-schedule ADRs.
Hope that helps some.

Thanks so much for the information, it was really helpful!!

I will book as soon as the 2014 prices are out readjust with disney if need be !
Thanks again!
