Information regarding free dining and gift card are now showing on virgin hols site.

Not actually showing yet when I tried to do a dummy booking though.:)

Am not having a go here, just curious why anyone would use Virgin hols when every time without fail they would actually be thousands more for us as a family than booking flights and disney hotel seperately. Is it to do with the time of year? We always have to go in school hols as I am a teacher. Like I said, not criticising or judging, just curious. x

We booked VH last time with our 10% frequent flyers discount, it worked out £1500 more expensive than it would have done doing DIY, but at the time DH was just starting a new job,he didn't know how it was going to work out so we wanted the opportunity to be able to cancel, just losing the £700 deposit not the thousands in flight money.
People will have lots of different reasons for booking VH just like us,its not always to do with the money.

We travel in school hols also.:)

Last year it was the same price for diy as it was with vh,so we booked with them.
Our forthcoming trip though, worked out cheaper diy- but I always compare both packages and diy,as we fly direct.:goodvibes

Those offers are all available directly with Disney! It's the flights, I cannot justify over 1000 each for four of us in flights in economy when I can get them for just over 700 elsewhere!

yay pleased to hear some info is starting to come out.
Cant wait to hear what free dining, is actually released :)
Will check around for deals and then book :cool1::cool1:

This year we are going indirect (we do most years now), Aer Lingus. Manchester to Orlando, I don't find indirect inconvenient and certainly can no longer afford Virgin. A return flight in August for Me, DH, DD (4) and DS (18 months no seat), cost us just over £2100 - leaving me very happy.

I can see how that price would please you,it's great.:cool1:
We won't fly indirect though,so by our own making,it's bumping up the price.:confused3

Ditto! :thumbsup2

And when you have a problem and book through Disney, you get someone who's native language is English ...... Over the years I have come to the place where much as I like to save money just like anyone else, I will pay a little more if I know that I can communicate with the company in the unlikely event of a problem.

I have been waiting for the 26th to get here for ages so I can book as I heard that is when the free dinning will start, even better that there is $200 disney dollers too. Woohoo :-) :-)

Woohoo also looking forward to seeing wether its full dining plan being given or just QS!!
Would love I now if they give the discount on SSR too now :) that will be my deciding factor on wether we book now for next may & just leave the flights till we know where we are living or not book until we know ( scared of why the outcome might be lol)

It's not always thousands more. Last year we had some family decide to join us and I booked them a package (flying same day but on later flight, same hotel and tickets) and it was only £300 more for the 2 of them. So it definitely does depend on the time of year as this was off peak.

A lot of people may also be happier with booking with a company that's ABTA bonded, especially in the current climate. Lots of people over the years have lost money when airlines have gone bust. I know there are ways around this but some people are just more comfortable.

That being said I haven't used a package for myself since about 2005 so to each their own :)

I price up everywhere before we book but for the last couple of years Virgin have price matched and the year before that we were luckly with a major price error on there website.

I always give them the option to match - if not I'd go elsewhere - but for the last 4 years I can not fault Virgin and I'm hoping they will price matcn agin for 2014!

In the past indirect has not been an option but now the girls are older we may start to consider this but only if it saved major £'s

The dining plan will be available to book from 25/4/2013 till 3/11/2013
Quick service for Port Orleans etc and dining will be on animal kingdom lodge and yacht and beach club not sure on Old key west and Saratoga.

I work for Thomas Cook and we have received our 2014 brochures, it's advertised in there, they don't feature OKW and Saratoga so can't confirm they will be included.

But there prices go on sale 25th April 2013 along with Thomson Holidays.

:yay:::cheer2:

Just spoken to a rep at VH and she told me although free dining will be available at the end of the week they will not be offering the 10% discount in 2014 for frequent flyers as in previous years :worried:
