The beignets are sad and the food isn't that great, I think they did her wrong, BUT it's a quick service so hopefully they do something more like blue bayou which would be cool and delicious

I am so excited!!! I was hoping to keep Reflections as the name - just feels easier than Lakeside Lodge - or even to call it the River Country Lodge.

I really hope the lazy river remains. That was among my biggest excitements for this resort. Nature themed + unique accommodations + lazy river. Yes, please!!

Now to start saving up. 2027 feels so far away, though, and I’ll have 2 kids in college then…

More Beach Blocked During Latest Lakeshore Lodge Construction Update​

More beach has been blocked, more walls have been installed, and another flying dumpster was spotted during our latest photo update of the construction on the new Lakeshore Lodge at Walt Disney World.



Most of the construction on the new Lakeshore Lodge can be seen from across Reflections Lake. Several tall cranes are still in place to move supplies. Since permits for the resort mention a 10-story hotel, it is likely that these cranes will remain in placefor the near future.



Each of the tall buildings was originally built as a separate structure, and work began in early February to connect each structure together into one unified resort. However, the buildings are all still at different heights, with this one having just finished installing the roof of the second floor. The red scaffolding to the right of this building is all new.



As we moved past, another flying dumpster was spotted being dangled from a crane. Several construction crew members were standing below to help lower the dumpster into the correct place.



Over in the next area, construction is not nearly as far along. Only short white beams have been installed in the earth so far, with many materials staged nearby for future use.


Yellow barriers still float in the lake surrounding all of the construction. These barriers will prevent any construction materials from accidentally floating too far away.



Moving to the most-completed section of building, this area has already completed the majority of the second floor and has prepped work on the third floor.


Much of the metal scaffolding in this area is new, and many construction crew members were working on the walls as we passed.



Several trucks and construction vehicles are parked at this far end near the water. Construction crew members were walking on top of the third floor and near the crane on the right.


The bench area near the beach has now been blocked, leaving only the seating area near the fishing check-in building available for Fort Wilderness guests to enjoy. A majority of the land to the right is piled with uneven dirt.

Work Begins on Fourth Floor of Disney Lakeshore Lodge at Walt Disney World​

Big Floatmaster platforms are in the water next to the construction site. These barges can be used to hold or transport construction equipment. The yellow barriers in the water keep stray debris from drifting too far into the lake to be retrieved.



The hotel is currently being built as a set of three buildings, though work began in February to connect the three structurestogether. However, this separate construction process has meant the buildings are not uniform, with the central building being the tallest.


Construction crew members are already working on installing elements of the fourth floor in this section. From the water, the large concrete beams holding the floors in place are visible, along with some wooden safety railings running across the top.




To the right of this central section, elements of the second and third floors can be seen still under construction. Many of the construction tools and materials for the project have also been staged on this right side.



The furthest wing of the resort is currently the least finished, though it is still much further along than our last update. The roof of the first floor has been completely installed, and it appears most of the main work is now taking place on the second floor.


Disney has not released any new concept art since this project was renamed Disney Lakeshore Lodge instead of Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, so it is possible only the middle section of the resort will be ten stories and the side sections will be shorter.



Finally, the leftmost wing that is closest to the Fort Wilderness beach has seen its third floor mostly completed. Cranes were lowering more wall panels into place from the nearby staging area.



The beams dividing the third and fourth floors are still exposed, but crew members can already be seen walking on what will become the fourth level.



Some of the dirt to the left of the building has been smoothed since our last update, though the area is still very uneven.



Around the corner of this building, we can also see construction beginning on what appears to be an outdoor roof structure or overhang.


The work on Disney Lakeshore Lodge expanded in February to include most of the Fort Wilderness beach. Only the seating area closest to the fishing excursion check-in building is still available for guests to enjoy.

The scrim is adorned with PPG Paints signs featuring Disney characters and quotes like, “Squirrel!”



The scrim wraps all the way around the side of the beach and blocks guests from going any further than the fishing building.



From Fort Wilderness, more of the construction progress can be seen above the scrim. One early-stage wall has been installed in the center of this building, while metal wiring for additional walls is propped nearby.


Several crew members are working on completing the second floor. Crew members on ladders are seen installing metal posts for the walls. It appears this section will be individual DVC rooms, since the frames have open spots for doorways and walls dividing each room.



None of the walls have been installed yet for the third floor, so that section is still mostly empty.



Announcements from Disney have described Lakeshore Lodge as “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.” The resort is expected to open sometime in 2027, though no more details or new concept art has been revealed yet. According to some new rumors, Disney Lakeshore Lodge may be home to a large feature pool with a lazy river.

It’s “yes” but also “it depends.” It is visible across the water, but the WL room views are also largely not oriented in that direction. From within the pool areas, you’re also not really looking that way.

It’d be visible from the boat dock, Geyser Point, etc.

Pipes and More Walls Installed on Disney Lakeshore Lodge​

Crews have installed piping and the frames for more interior walls during the construction of Disney Lakeshore Lodge.



Construction work is progressing quickly as the building continues to grow along the shores of Bay Lake.



Behind these trees is a low structure. Most of the building has reached four stories, but this area only has one. We know from a construction permit that the final hotel will be ten stories tall.



There are now two tall poles attached to two of the Floatmasters. These barges are used to hold or transport construction equipment. On land, some walls have been encased in concrete.



Further down, the building is three stories high. The ground floor is taller than the rest.



In this area, some vertical supports reach up to five stories tall, but there isn’t flooring for the top two yet.



Work has started on a fifth floor, with rebar sticking up for more columns.



In this area, crew members were using a crane to pour concrete into a form.


The section that’s most clearly visible is right next to the beach of Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Piping has been installed on the first floor.



Red pipes are visible running across the ceiling. On the second floor, steel frames now outline rooms. While the first room walls we saw installed had smaller openings for windows, these have larger openings for sliding glass doors.


More of these frames continue down the side of the building. Rooms that face the lake will likely be more expensive.



The wall frameworks are mostly on the second floor.



The building curves back away from the water and then back towards it in a U shape.


At the back of this section, a roof juts out from the building. This could be some kind of port-cochere.



More pipes run down the side of the building. Walls will be constructed around them.


Crews have started developing the land between Lakeshore Lodge and Fort Wilderness.



From the land, we got a closer look at some of the pipes and wall structures. There are temporary plywood railings and blue nets for crew member safety.


The room at this corner has been outlined with wall frames.

Disney Lakeshore Lodge replaces the originally-announced Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge. It’s expected to open in 2027.

Additional Framing Added at Disney Lakeshore Lodge as Construction Continues​

More framing has been added, a platform was lowered into place, and wooden framework is being installed near the beach in our newest photo update as construction continues on the new Disney Lakeshore Lodge at Walt Disney World.



Most of the construction on the new Lakeshore Lodge can be seen from across Bay Lake. Several tall cranes are still in place to move supplies. Since permits for the resort mention a 10-story hotel, these cranes will likelyremain in place for the near future.

Additional framing has also been constructed throughout the project as the present crews are working quickly.

In some areas, crews work atop now five story sections of the new resort. Previously, only two to three levels were constructed.


We also saw some sort of platform being lowered into place atop one of the new buildings.


Sadly, with the moving platform, no flying dumpsters were available for photos during this look at continued construction.



The bench area near the beach is still blocked and now under heavy construction, leaving only the seating area near the fishing check-in building available for Fort Wilderness guests to enjoy.


In other areas, the new resort is still only reaching two to three stories high. However, numerous crew members were actively working on this section of construction.



Additional scaffolding and metal framework have been added to this area. It also appears that some concrete work may be occurring with the appearance of the yellow funnel.



With the added framework, several of the resort rooms are starting to take shape along the exterior.



In this update, work was also being done on a large concrete support wall on one of the exterior sides.


Wooden railings have also been erected to protect crew members working near the edges of the newly added stories.

Disney Lakeshore Lodge Update: Guest Room Construction Underway at Sprawling Fort Wilderness Hotel

Once complete, the new hotel will be 10 stories tall, undoubtedly changing the look and feel of Fort Wilderness forever. We took a lap on the wonderful watercraft service between Fort Wilderness, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and Magic Kingdom recently for an updated look at the sprawling project. Here’s the latest!

Disney Lakeshore Lodge Update​

We’ll start our extensive update from atop Disney’s Contemporary Resort, where we can get an elevated look at the construction site for Disney Lakeshore Lodge. As you may recall, Lakeshore Lodge was previously named Reflections: A Disney Lakeside Lodge prior to a lengthy construction pause due to COVID-19. A restart of the project last Fall came with a rebrand that was met positively by Disney fans.
What will certainly draw the ire of Disney fans, or at least Fort Wilderness fans, is just how massive this hotel will be. At 10-stories tall, it will certainly be an imposing structure at the previously serene Fort Wilderness Resort. Another point of contention may be how sprawling the footprint of the hotel will be. Right now, the hotel is about halfway done in terms of height. The tallest point appears to be some 5-6 stories when we visited. We’ll get a better idea of just how imposing the structure will be when it reaches full height later this year, but for now, here’s a look across Bay Lake at the current construction progress.

From a construction perspective, not only is the hotel continuing to grow vertically, but we’re starting to see some of the outlines of the guest rooms that will overlook Bay Lake. We even spotted the first bit of sheathing as Disney starts to enclose rooms. Here’s a look around!

It’s the Four Seasons. While it’s not that far away, the camera lens they’re using in that shot makes it look a lot closer than it really is in that angle.

Work Underway on Waterfront Cabins for Upcoming Disney Lakeshore Lodge Hotel at Fort Wilderness

As the imposing 10-story hotel structure continues to rise at the upcoming Disney Lakeshore Lodge hotel at Fort Wilderness, early work has begun on what we assume will be some waterfront cabins. The cabins, which will be located to the northeast and southwest of the hotel complex, will likely be similar to the Copper Creek Cabins offering at the Wilderness Lodge hotel nearby. Here’s a look at the work so far for the cabins that will replace Clementine’s Beach at the Fort Wilderness boat launch area.

Ok, with a look at the permit, let’s take a look back at the beachfront area that has been replaced by construction equipment as Disney works to build the lakefront cabins.

In addition to the framing seen above, it looks like there is some infrastructure work underway too for the new cabins that will be just steps away from Pioneer Hall and the Fort Wilderness boat launch area. It is believed that the boat launch dock will be adjusted as well as part of the work in the coming year or so before Disney Lakeshore Lodge opens in 2027.
