Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge Coming to former Reflections Site in 2027!

I was wondering that too; did they scrap the idea of having a hotel/dvc mix? If it's all DVC, then I hope they depart from the lackluster lobby and limited restaurants that Riviera has. Also, the dues will certainly be a factor in our decision to own there.

It will be interesting to see what the point chart will be. Assuming less than Poly / VGF. A bit more than Wilderness Lodge, but hopefully not much?

I am so excited!!! I was hoping to keep Reflections as the name - just feels easier than Lakeside Lodge - or even to call it the River Country Lodge.

I really hope the lazy river remains. That was among my biggest excitements for this resort. Nature themed + unique accommodations + lazy river. Yes, please!!

Now to start saving up. 2027 feels so far away, though, and I’ll have 2 kids in college then…

Now the question is whether the DVC side will be combined with the Cabins at Fort Wilderness, or separate.

It will be nice to have another restaurant option for Fort Wilderness too - hopefully a mid-range or slightly higher-range table service, which is sorely needed with Trails End converted to Quick Serve.

I think they almost need to do this. CFW is missing DVC amenities imo.

If they do combine LL with CFW, I'm assuming the deed expiration would be the same for both, meaning those buying into LL would not get the full 50 year deed; that would kind of suck.

I wouldn’t know how, but perhaps thats where the Trust comes in? CFW is the first one in the Trust, and @ehh might be able to sketch out details to address length of Trust contracts.

I merely found the Palmetto Trust on sunbiz.org and connected the dots to CFW by finding "Palmetto" on CFW assets on DVC's website.

You are great at looking "under the hood". In fact, I've been meaning to ask you to start a thread notifying the community when new declarations are made at the actively selling resorts.

(Specifically Polynesian Island Towers since it will help inform those of us waiting for FW39 standard studios! ) Hahaha. Kidding not kidding!

Hmm....I like the location a lot. But based on those drawings, it doesn't seem like it would be the vibe I would want. I feel like it should be more woodsy/rustic for that area. But what do I know? (Not much, obviously.)

Given the Pocahontas / Brother Bear / Princess and the Frog features mentioned, I think the product will feel woodsier than people are interpreting those drawings. The porte-cochere in the right colours, for example, I feel could look either wood tones & a forest vibe, or go ‘back in the bayou’ to that beautiful Princess and the Frog scene?

First, thank you for the kind words!

As for a 'future declarations' thread, I have considered this! Two reasons why I've held off:

1. Checking inventory every/every-other night after 9PM PT is kind of is a drag when there's only an interesting change once every ~90 nights on a fast-selling resort.
   • I'm also not sure how useful it is to closely monitor the forecasted declarations, I did track VDH/RIV for a few months for my own interests but the real declarations ended up being a little off when the inventory changes were.
     • For example, this declaration showed up as bookable for stays starting July 19, 2024, but the actual declaration wasn't until mid-October 2024: https://dvcnews.com/wdw-resorts/riv...5-more-vacation-homes-for-riviera-s-inventory
2. I've tip-toed around other inventory-based posts in the past as they could be interpreted as against the 'don't post availability' rule this forum has. I don't think they are, but that's not my call.
   • There's also the whole aspect of being too loud about using the network traffic to determine availability and ultimately having DVC remove the functionality that I'm careful to avoid.

I'm excited for this! The A-frame cabins initially planned looked cool, too. I'm thinking Epcot or Animal Kingdom will be the next area to get DVC since MK is getting totally taken over by DVC at this point. If Lakeside Lodge opens 2027, whatever comes next is 2029ish, which dovetails with AK getting their big investment. Riviera will be totally sold out, unless they cannibalize another wing of Caribbean Beach and add on to it as Riviera 2.0. Hmm.

Animal Kingdom is unlikely, already has a huge DVC space, and it’s one of the less in demand.

I suspect Lakeside Lodge will take a while to sell. Likely a huge resort. So there may not be a rush for something new.

But I agree it’s likely that something would be planned for 2029.

I see 3 most likely locations:

1. Epcot area. Perhaps tear down Atlantic City Dance Hall and Jelly Rolls, build a tower there. Maybe build another resort next to Riviera.
2. A small expensive DVC hotel INSIDE Epcot. Been rumored before. Build behind the Land Pavillion.
3. DHS adjacent, maybe the land where the Star Wars hotel was built.

Next set of possible but less likely:
4. On the Seven Seas lagoon, between Contemporary and Poly. This has been a rumored development site since WDW was built.
5. Beyond Big Thunder Mountain: hotel with entrance to Villains land.
6. Like OKW or SSR, develop an unused part of the property that is not adjacent to parks. (Lots of land options, but such locations have proven less popular).

I like your #1 & #3 ideas above -
Though I would imagine the DVC parking for either/both of those would present a challenge....
