As for the transportation question - I put my money on the cab!

The cab is NOT an option...although some would believe a CAB was a part of it, but I tell you it was NOT involved!

Well, I know how we did it in 2007, but I'm not sure it was the most effecient way!

Hmmmm.....it just gets curiouser and curiouser....

Interesting, all the ladies picked seem to have on black shirts.

I noticed that, too. Really, he picked 2 of us, but the other blonde ran up there anyway- and he told her it was ok, she could stay even though she was not one of the CHOSEN ones.

I missed something like 4 updates when I was away. So much fun! Way to go superstar Ellen! Go on with your bad self - you rock with all that DISmom mojo. In two separate shows within 20 mins. It's the Ellen variety hour!!!!!!

So sorry Lonnie had to leave, but its so wonderful that she is so helpful to the little boy she is working with.

Great plan for free dining at CSR with the family! Sounds like so much fun! I would love to take advantage of the free dining, but I don't think I can get an extra trip this fall.

No ADR at Y&Y is needed...just walk on in. I'm planning to do it again in the fall with Pods.

*note to self.. next time at Y & Y.. get 2 of each snowball to be the deceiding factor and let the DIS MOMS know which one is best.. dont worry girls I have your back LOL

I have to answer this, even though I'm not caught up - we've discovered the trick. If you want to get really wet, sit next to an opening, and a couple of larger people! My DH and his uncle are both bigger guys and when they sit together, they always get drenched - DH and I had a family of 4 who were all quite healthy and they got drenched too! I think it's a weight distribution thing.

Ummm.... just an observation but was it a requirement for Lonnie's bridesmaids dresses at her wedding to match the wallpaper border in the room???

And where are the bridesmaids hats from YOUR wedding!!! You need to wrangle those up for tea at GF next year!!!!

Yes, I have often looked back at this photo over the years and thought how clever Loni was to match us bridesmaids up with the bathroom wallpaper at the country club. Very classy! And I would have to say the bridesmaids' hats from my wedding have turned to dust by now....you know, ashes to ashes, dust to dust....24 years is a LOOOOOONG time for a hat!!

I had forgotten all about the RR Nazi! Man, he was really bossy on gettin people in the rafts and moving over to their seats, even when they didn't understand him and sat down in the first one they came to!! Not that anyone did that in OUR raft....well, at least not us....

Well.... since our fearless leader keeps texting me if I get behind on updates..... And yes, she IS fearless!

Remember?

Let me just say that the trip to Narcoosee's was split. We discussed taking a bus to MK and then hopping the monorail over to the GF, when someone who was obviously VERY well versed in Disney transportation and just an all around hot mama, suggested, "what if we walk through Epcot and hop the monorail from there?"

At that point, there were a few naysayers. "I don't wanna get all hot and sticky walking through Epcot."

And then there's Ellen......

"I'll do it!"

So at that point, nobody wanted to be outdone by Ellen. So we all headed down to the lobby and as we were getting ready to head out, everyone decided to go with Ellen and I through Epcot. At which point, Ellen and I decided to pull a fast one.

Kara: We should text them and tell them we're taking the bus.
Ellen: I'll do it!

So we stopped inside the lobby, and quickly texted them, as we watched them from behind a big pillar.

All of a sudden Cammie, Joan and Pam just stopped. I can only imagine what was being said.

Meanwhile, Ellen and I were about to wet ourselves laughing so hard. Ring any bells???? Anita Ward!!!!!

Anywho...... we finally came out laughing and headed off together toward Epcot. Cammie and Joan were still talking about taking the bus, so as we passed the DVC villas, we pointed out that they could cut through there to the makeshift bus stop and we would race them over.

IT'S ON!!!!!

Now I will have you know that we never ran, never skipped, never even did the electric slide (although Ellen was jonesing for it big time!) at any point during our amazing race.

I think we may have even taken the long way around Epcot, stopped at each country in WS and maybe even ordered an appy or two.....

OK, so we didn't do that.

We worked our way through Epcot and came out on the monorail platform just as a car was pulling in with our name on it.

Seriously. It said, "Welcome Kara, Ellen and Pam" - yes, Pam joined us, cause, well, she knew.......

We hopped on the Kara, Ellen, and Pam monorail, grabbed a seat and sat there giggling like schoolgirls. Which we kinda are. More or less. OK, a little less.......

We hopped off our monorail at the TTC, made our way over to the resort monorails, and lo and behold, what should appear? Why, it's the "Kara, Ellen, and Pam 2" monorail heading for the Grand Floridian.

Again. Sit. Giggle. Schoolgirls.

When we arrive at the GF, we quickly ask a couple of photopass CMs which way to Narcoosees. We also tell them we are in a race, and instead of merely pointing us the right direction, Cast Member Nike takes flight and LEADS us down the stairs, all the way to the back of the lobby and out the door.

At this point, we are haughtily strolling through the grounds on our way to Narcoosees. It was at this point, I will admit, we picked up the pace. Until we realized, OK, if they are already there, what's the point of running? And if they are behind us, we will see them, right?

Oh, yeah.

We arrived. We sat. We ordered.

And we waited. And waited. And waited.

So we ordered again.

Ellen, carry on!!!!!

Yes...all Kara's idea. This was only my 6th time staying at the Beach Club and it would never have even occured to me there was a way to walk to a monorail!!! Kara is sooooo smart!!!

Soooo...everyone was trying to decide how to get to Narcoosees....buses or walk & monorail. I decided I wasn't getting involved, because I knew what I was doing- the same thing we always do, we walk through Epcot & grab the monorail. I just think you could be waiting for just the right bus for a looooong time and that can be very frustrating. At least when you're walking, you KNOW you are getting closer! I ALWAYS would rather walk anyway- I figure the more walking I do on vacation, the more eating & drinking I can do on vacation!! And THAT'S what REALLY matters!!! Of course, my girl Kara piped up and says she thinks it's better to walk through EPCOT and take the monorail (always have faith Kara will have a GREAT idea!!), so I was ALL FOR IT. Unfortunately, what with the hot & sticky "issue" involving wearing a dress, well....not everyone was so enthusiastic about making the jaunt through EPCOT. So...after we texted them that Kara & I were taking a cab (and OMG!!! Watching them was HILARIOUS!!!!! We gotta do that more often!!!!) the two in dresses went for the bus...and the three of us ...although Kara was wearing a dress, too....went through Epcot. We stopped for a couple pics, taking it at a regular pace...

Since Kara & I apparently have ALL the DISmom transportation MOJO, the monorail OF COURSE pulled right in for us!!! And....then pulled right in for us AGAIN at the TTC!! But when we got off at GF, we all realized....we have NO idea where the restaurant is!!!! We walk by the photographers, and they ask us if we'd like to take a picture or something, and I say, "WE DON't HAVE TIME for PICTURES!!!! WE'RE in a RACE!!!! Can you tell us how to find Narcoosees, PLEASE????" ANd this CM says "OH! A race!!! Right this way!!!" And he goes FLYING down the stairs....briefly stopping to turn and say, "watch your step!", and then we chase after him to the end of the building, where he points to Narcoosees and wishes us good luck!!!

Really, that CM was too funny, he seriously FLEW us through the GF!! So we get to Narcoosees, and a second before we walk through the door, we have a moment of hesitation- oh no! What if Cammie was right? What if the bus was faster? What if they got one right away!!?? Well....

Are you kidding me???? We didn't just get there FIRST, we got there waaaaaaaay early!! Yea, that's right! So we checked in with our friend up front, and explained what was going on....he thought we were pretty funny! So he told us to sit at the bar, and handed us a flasher....and we waited....

and we got flashed ....and had to tell our buddy up front that we still didn't have our whole party....and we waited....and he had to give our table away....and we waited...

And we decided to start texting Cammie & Joan...like we still weren't there. And they tell us....

Oh, don't worry, we're at the bar, we'll wait. Okay......


At least, we THINK that's what happened. Kara and I can't remember exactly.... but....we all had a good laugh when those very pretty slowpokes finally DID arrive!!

Seems they had NO mojo getting to GF- slow buses, late buses, no buses, broken monorails....yea right. Sure sure. AND they seemed to really think we took a cab!! AS IF....we would need to. We had the Mojo. No cab necessary!!

Unfortunately, we still didn't have a table, but that was ok...we waited by the kitchen and drooled over other people's food-

And drooled over the view...

And admired the pretty restaurant...

But it all worked out in the end, because our buddy at the door gave us a PRIMO table right next to the window looking towards MK!! YEA baby!!!

I really love a good challenge! I would have been so pissed if I had chosen the wrong route. It's so tricky with the bus because there could be one just pulling up when you need it OR you could have just missed it and that adds 20 mins to your travel time. At least with the monorail, you know one's on its way...

I would've chosen the monorail route. Any excuse to walk through Epcot....
