DISmoms Gone WILD!!!!! A trip to WDW without the KIDS!!!!!

So.....we have a LOT planned for this trip- and what was nice was that as we made plans and changed them (at one point hourly!!) all I had to do was email the concierge at AKV and they took care of it AND emailed me a nicely printed out Itinerary for our stay- SWEET! :thumbsup2 This was a great perk!!

On Saturday, Lonnie will be driving and meeting me at AKV around 11:30 or 12- I'll be taking ME from the airport and should get there around then. Our plan is to head to DTD and grab some lunch at WPE (I need that chinois chicken salad!) and then head over to the SSR spa for some treatments- pedicures for each, then she's having a stone massage and I'm getting the Mystical Therapies again, which is 25 minutes of massage, 25 minutes of reflexology- I LOVED it last year!! When we're done, we'll go back to DTD and get tatoos! Last year we got them on the last day (DUH! What a waste!)-

2008_060506summer0313.jpg

So THIS time we're going to start OFF with them! I'd get them before SSR Spa, but I'm worried the oil might rub it off- anyway....Cammie should be arriving around 5:00 (not sure when Kara's coming), so we're all meeting in DTD for the first of what will be MANY drinks anyway (don't forget! We may need to bring our own pop rocks for our martinis at Fulton's!:rotfl:) and oh yeah- Lonnie & I are going to buy our FIRST annual passes and TIW card!!:woohoo::woohoo: It makes me so stinkin ecstatic to know I'll be in WDW enough this year to need an annual pass!!

That first night, Lonnie & I are staying at AKV, and Kara & Cammie are at ASMu (I think). We HAVE to be at AKV, because we need to check into our Concierge room at AKV around 6:30 am before we go on the sunrise safari on Sunday morning, and being in the building already will make it a little easier. So on Sat night, L & I are going to be a little mellow- we have an 8 pm ADR at Sanaa, the new restaurant opening TODAY :dance3: in Kidani Village at AKV. I am REALLY looking forward to that meal, the food sounds very creative, and I LOVE creative! It IS going to be hard to tear ourselves away from K & C, though.... well, we'll see what happens!

Back later with more of our plans-

Ellen

Ellen -

Your arrival day sounds so nice!!! I see we have similar plans. I'm meeting a fellow DISer for dinner at Sanaa on my arrival day (May 12th). The food looks yummy!!!

And I'm doing a hot stone massage at SSR on my last day. I figure I'll need it after all of the walking I'll be doing on this trip.

Where in DTD can you get a tattoo? They looks so cute!

I love the tatoo too! I think I'll have to look for that in DTD. I've never had one (fake or real) but have always wanted to. Maybe I'll give it a shot in a couple of days. :thumbsup2

A few years ago I got a henna tattoo from the Moroccan pavillion at EPCOT. I think I might do that again this year.

All right ladies, I'm here!!! :lmao:

I've had the pleasure of "meeting" Kara through my PTR

Hi Kara

I thought I would join in and get to know the "DISMoms gone wild" a little bit better. This way I know in advance if I should hang with you guys or run :rotfl2:

:lmao::lmao: Be afraid. Be very, very afraid. ;)

Darn I didn't make page 1 !!1 Work got in the way!! great start ellen!!

Hi! Only 16 days til France is turned upside down!!:yay: Soon, work won't BE getting in the way!:woohoo:

Ellen, great start! This is going to be so fun - I can't wait to read it!:cool1: With this title, all kinds of craziness is going through my head - think Mardi Gras on hormones!:lmao:

Kara, I actually clicked on that link to see if it was real - you can make me a sign later!:goodvibes

Now Cammie, I'm a little worried - your daughter won't be there to remind you to wear your bra!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

It's all true!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

:rotfl2: OMG!

Can't wait to hear what people say about Sanaa- that is, people who have actually been there because they think the food will be good, not all the people who are putting it down because it serves something with some spice on it! Sometimes I really wonder- don't people get bored of chicken fingers, pizza and chicken caesar salads??? Why is everyone afraid to try something new? Well, I hope there are some good reports in the next couple of days!

Lonnie's doing more spa stuff than me- she always does. She's going back later in the week for another massage and a facial at GF spa. You're right, you WILL need it after all the walking on the trip, too.:goodvibes It is soo nice to be pampered, and the last time we were there we got massages on the first day, just like this time- it was a great way to get into relaxed vacation mode!

There's a tatoo cart in DTD in front of WoD store, i think. I don't have a "real" one, either- but I am definitely up for a temporary one! I think if they have the henna ones, i may get that- I think they last longer.

I'm looking forward to Sanaa too. I used to more adventurous but lately I seem to stick with the tried and true. I'm using this trip to break out of my comfort zone and try some new things.

I used to get at least one massage a year but I have not had one in ages. I toyed with the idea of getting one on my first day but decided I would need to relax to face going back to work

Ellen - I sooooo want to get a tatoo also! I mean to do it every trip, and never get around to it.

Also think it would be fun if we got our faces painted one day too!

And thanks for the reminder about the PopRocks. I look for them around here and buy a couple of packets.

I really promise to contribute more to this PTR than just random comments. I might have to wait until Sunday though. Lauren is performing all weekend in her school's production of Grease and I have family from NJ staying with me. Don't anticipate having alot of time to be on the DIS until Sunday afternoon the earliest.

I promise to try and check in though and promise this report will be given more attention once this weekend is over. In the meantime, continue on with your amazing job of holding down the fort!:thumbsup2

And btw, since this trip report IS called DISMoms Gone Wild, I thought that meant we were leaving the bras at home!;)

:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Actually, Kara can come in quite handy. She can wrestle gators, fight monkeys, capture snakes, kill spiders... It's like vacationing with Crocadile Dundee! :thumbsup2:lmao:

Make sure she works her upgrade mojo on you. I hear she got UPGRADED again:confused3:rotfl:

One of my best friends from high school just got transferred there. She was at Tony's at MK. So if you see a Jenny from Minnesota, I will kind of be there with you in spirit. ;)

This is going to be one heck of a trip.

Is someone going to post a pic of the shirts allen has worked up--they sound great.

Wish I didn't have this stupid church carnival. Why do I volunteer for everything?:headache:

She DID get upgraded again!!! She says she booked parking lot view and got Savannah view! She IS the queen!!:worship::worship::worship:

I haven't gotten my shirt yet (which is weird, because I usually get mail very quickly from everywhere because our post office is a hub) but I'll take a pic to show you when it comes. And we will look for your friend!!

I volunteer for everything, too. we need to learn to JUST SAY NO!!!!!!:rotfl:

Hi Ellen -

I remember you from your visits to my December trip report! Your crazy girls trip sounds like alot of fun. I hope you love Kidani. I am staying there in June and can't wait for the TR's and pictures to start showing up.

BTW - your Dismeet on the GSP is so funny! I can't believe you were able to get a clean picture without a thousand other people getting in the way! :rotfl:

That new restaurant sounds lovely!!

I can't wait to hear how the whole weekend goes.....I promise to be only a little jealous!!:goodvibes

We can all get temporary tats together on Saturday- unless, of course, we drink too many pop rocks martinis- then we'll be getting real ones!:rotfl:

What part is she in Grease? Rizzo? Sandy? The beauty school drop-out?? When I was in college Grease was very popular- we did it as a Greek week skit and also a rush skit (I was in a sorority). I still know that "we go together" dance!

And btw, since this trip report IS called DISMoms Gone Wild, I thought that meant we were leaving the bras at home!;)

Then I'll have to rename the report DisMoms Gone Down to Their Knees!:scared::rotfl: Well, except for Lonnie- Lonnie's very perky!:rotfl2:

Hi there!! I loved your TR!!:worship: I am REALLy excited to see Kidani- you can bet if I arrive at AKV at 12:00, I'll be scoping out the Kidani pool by 12:01! Our first Kidani stay is in November. I'll just be a lurker on this visit. I hope someone posts a review of Sanaa or a live tr soon!!

My 2 younger sons were with me at the GSP meet- I'm explaining to them who I'm going away with in a couple of weeks, and they're like "Oh, the lady from the parkway that loves Disney too much like YOU??":lmao:

It's going to be soooo fun!!!!:woohoo:

Thanks for posting that link! Saana actually looks good! We might have to give it a try!

Finally getting around to reading. Love that its going to be a combined effort trip report, does that mean extra pics and lots of different ways on remembering the nights LMAO

that all sounds scrumptious!!

Thanks for posting that link! Saana actually looks good! We might have to give it a try!

Yes those sandwiches did look good !!

I ALWAYS like to try something new- it's encouraging when the first review you see is so positive, too!!:goodvibes

Yes, that is EXACTLY what it means!!:dance3:

drea- I just started to plan our 1st trip to DLR!!! We're going to come out in August 2010, and stay at Disney and Hotel del Coronado (if they're still taking DVC points then). I hope we can do a Dismeet when we're there!!:woohoo:

It was a busy weekend, filled with baseball and my DH's bday, PLUS a NY Yankee!!! I'll be back with photos and more plans this morning....
