DisMeet - Baltimore, Maryland

Ya gotta love Plan B!

You're lucky to have relatives in the Orlando area. Nobody else could pull off that kind of fake out and keep it going all the way into MCO. And frankly, when I was that age, there is NO WAY my parents could have kept the secret more than 5 minutes past the point where they took me out of school - my brother and I would both have pestered them mercilessly all the way to the airport, and they would have given in.

Sherri - that was so cool. You guys really pulled it off. :goodvibes

Was this Mark's idea? I don't remember who suggested it first. Hope the rest of the trip was as much fun for all. Thanks for sharing the video.

It was Will's idea to do the phone call. Originally, we were going to try and ask a CM to help us or do something right outside the ME area, like, "hey, there's the Disney World busses. Let's go!" The phone call worked great because last year just me and the boys went to Orlando to visit my family and it was not a Disney World trip so the boys were believing us that we were doing the same thing this time around.

I love having family in Orlando and wish we could spend more time with them when we visit the world. Our trip 2 yrs ago we were able to see them twice- dinner at Beach Club and then Thanksgiving dinner at my cousins. I keep trying to talk DH into moving down there too, but, he wouldn't be able to get a job easily. I'm lucky - I'm a nurse and I work from home so I could keep my job. As for keeping the surprise, I don't know how we did it. Believe me - they kept asking questions about where we were going. We're glad we did it, but, next time it'll be "we just booked a trip to Disney World. Let's start planning."

that was cute! can't believe you guys are back already. hope you all had a great time. i'm off to WDW in the AM!

hey guys - just have to share this with you all.

Booked Southwest back at the end of August for my Nov 29 trip. And since then the fares have gone down four timess!!! Each time when I've checked the flights on line, it was soooooo easy to keep the itinerary and change the costs. At this point both the flight down and the flight back are $78 each (before taxes). :yay:

And I've banked $181.00 credit in SWA future fares.

WoooHoooo!!! :woohoo:

WTG! I am always amazed at how air fares can vary from day to day. I was glad when I was able to save $$ with our flight with Air Tran when they changed the fare. I was suprised that they let you me do it.

Now, you have enough SWA $$$ to go again. That helps the post-Disney depression a lot.

Did the same thing in August and SWA are now offering 50% out of Buffalo so I now have enough credits for another trip!!!!

Hi all - I see we've picked up some readers from Las Vegas and Canada. Our little Baltimore meets are growing!!

Speaking of which - when are we all gonna get together in November? And where???? Who is organizing this one???

Hello B'mores!!! I am still around just been working...:goodvibes I know my Nov 8th is shut... only w'end off would be the 22nd for me !!!:sad1:

Don Pablo sure was nice - and no awnings - but if we want to try someplace else, there are plenty of other places in the greater Baltimore area.

I suggested the Avenue at White Marsh last time. There is another Don Pablo there, as well as lots of other restaurants and stores, a movie theater, and often live entertainment near the big fountain on the weekends. The White Marsh Mall accross the street has plenty to offer, too, including a Disney Store and an Ikea in the parking lot. White Marsh is located at about the 1:30 position on the Baltimore Beltway, and about the same distance outside the beltway as Owings Mills Mall.

Arundel Mills Mall is also a nice place, with lots of shops and restaurants, the BEST movie theater in Maryland, its own Disney Store, and plenty of other shops and stores scattered around it. And there is a Coldstone Creamery across the street! My favorite restaurants in Arundel Mills are the Dave and Busters (not the arcade part, the sit-down restaurant part, which is never crowded), and Chevys Fresh Mex, which is very much like Don Pablo. Arundel Mills is near the interchange of MD 295 and MD 100, near BWI airport.

:goodvibes as long as it is tracebale by mapquest... that is great for me... hmmmm I wonder if Candice and Pete have not develped high blood pressures yet :lmao:

Count me in if possible. I think that if we continue to have our PA friends meet us, I would think the White Marsh area would be very convenient for them since it is right off of 95 and would easily knock a lot of time off their commute. Now, granted, the Don Pablos in Owings Mills was the most convenient one for me but if they can travel from PA, I surely can travel further. :drive:

Sherri - if White Marsh ends up being the spot, can I ride with you??? I'm just down the road from you in R'town you know! Don't know White Marsh area at all.

Timmy that's cute...I didn't realize you were recording us.....good thing we behaved ourselves..:lmao:

If I can locate White Marsh on my GPS then I'm in..at least if I'm available. So far the 22nd looks good to me. :thumbsup2
