That's so sweet about DD. It sounds like she is really excited about the baby. Just a little unsolicited advice have apresent for her at the hospital from the baby when the baby is born. We did that with our kids and it kind of made it that much more special because eveybody brings something for the baby so this time the baby brought something for them.

Yes, that is a great idea!!

That is a riot about what your dd said and too cute at the same time:laughing:

Aww, what happened with your moms group?

Thanks. We found a cute one on ebay:surfweb:

Do you have a pic of the costume? Maybe I missed it.

Basically our mom's group tiff is this: (I certainly welcome your advice).

There is one girl in the group of 14 kids that has food allergies -- all Dairy, eggs and tree nuts.

We meet most every Wed from 10-1pm, and bring snacks and lunch.

So it was said that we should eliminate all dairy, eggs and tree nuts from our playgroup. I asked what about just being cautious and not eating them around the girl, washing hands thoroughly, etc. It's not like we share the food or even that everyone eats at the same time.

I also wanted to know what dairy/eggs/tree nuts meant so I called the mom for clarification and she said -- no milk, no mayonaisse, no cheese, no yogurt, no Ranch dressing, careful on crackers and bread if made with milk or eggs, no hard-boiled eggs, no egg salad sandwich, no chicken salad sandwich, no homemade cookies or cakes or brownies (if milk or eggs in them), no goldfish crackers or other cheese-type crackers, nothing with pecans, walnuts, no granola bars, etc.

I said well, it's not worth it to bother with snacks or lunch at all then. There isn't much left to eat. (Guess I should have kept those thoughts to myself...)

I understand she has food allergies but they go out to eat all the time and the girl is in pre-school, so it's not like she's never around dairy/egg/tree nuts. She even said they go to birthday parties with cheese pizza and cake. So I don't understand why our playgroup is any different.

So the group is making those of us who feel the way I do that we are either really stupid and not getting it or are completely selfish.

I certainly welcome all your advice. I'm not sure what the "right" thing to do is here.

- I guess my options are go to play only and leave when DD or I get hungry.
- Go out and buy foods that are dairy-egg-tree nut free whether I want them or not
- Just go to the other playgroups that don't have these restrictions
- ????

Well I'm heading to Bed! I thought I'd pop in to say Hi for a while, but I'm exhausted and still have to straighten up the house. B is sick AGAIN:sick: poor baby and I've let things get out of hand today.
Night all.
Hope to see ya'll tomorrow!!:goodvibes

Hope B feels better soon.

:scared1: i pretty much agree with you...im not a mom, so im not sure if my opinion matters :confused3 so i'll just ask a question...Would it be easier to just go to another playgroup that doesnt have any restrictions?

Debbie Downer meets WDW...for real :rotfl2:

I totally forgot about this!

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:
That was hilarious!!!:rotfl2:

An awesome Wal Mart? There is no such thing.
 Oh But there is!!! Ours is a small super Wal Mart it was one of the first built but we have AWESOME clearance sales because of it!!:woohoo: I just racked up on Nestle Baking Chips exp. in 2010 for 25cents a bag!!:cool1:
And there is a Hugeeeemongous Wally World about 40 min from me that is GREAT!!!
But the one in the next town is Horrible!! It belongs down below!!:scared1:

Yes, that is a great idea!!

Braeton was lactose intolerant, now he's lactose sensitive. But anyway, when he could not have milk, cheese, ice cream yogurt etc.... I simply brought his own food if we were going somewhere where food was supplied and let other moms know so they could help me watch that he didn't get anything he wasn't supposed to have. On a picnic I made sure he wasnot sitting next to any food he wasn't supposed to eat and kept wet wipes and antibacterial gel by me. I also carried Benadryl for JUST IN CASE. While some allergies are severe enough they cannot even breath it in, if this girl can go to resturaunts etc... that is obviously not the case. if everyone brings their own food then maybe ya'll should just have an agreement for the kids not to share their food in this case so that the child can not accidentally eat the wrong thing.
You didn't do anything wrong, with these types of allergies they are most likely having to special order their food or buy at the Health Food store. Bless that poor Moms heart:hug: But she is going to have snap out of it. When this kid goes to school the school is not going to make all the other kids eat the same thing. They are going to feed her something different. I teach a little girl on occasion that has a protein definciency and it's horrible. she can't hardly eatanything, but you just have to make adjustments and go on!!!!

Should have started with TAXES!:lmao:

oh, but it DID! ;)

Hey All.

Just got back a Brand new Wally World and OMG, was it Huge!!!!!

So awesome :woohoo:

We also went to Sears and got another memory stick for my camera. They were having a sale. Normally they are 44.95 and were on sale today for 15.95
:yay: :yay: :yay:

Going back to catch up:surfweb:

that's a really good price. What brand was it?

An awesome Wal Mart? There is no such thing.

:rotfl2:

Don't feel bad. Neither do I. Somebody asked me today what my plans were for this weekend. I told them I was putting my Halloween decorations out. Well, that's done, so I'm free for the whole weekend.:goodvibes

well don't feel bad. Mike and I don't ever get to make any weekend plans because he works on the weekends. No BBQ's, no birthday parties, no fishing, no boating, no clubbing, no weekend get-aways...you get the picture.

Think I'm bitter?

Good Morning Chele. How was your day?

Hey Cheri. Hope the rest of your day was good:goodvibes

You go girl, ya are catchin up to me

:woohoo: :woohoo:

Hey Carla. How was your day?:goodvibes

my day was okay....enjoyed spending time with Mike, but I wish we had more time before I have to go. He's, as usual, at work today til 5.
(and tomorrow too of course)

Was a pretty nice place. Before Ike. Haven't been by there for a while. I thought they still didn't have power in that area??? did they get power today??

they don't. They are running on a generator (as of Thursday anyway)

I just hope they are running the hot tub and sauna too! :thumbsup2

The only people in the hotel right now are from my company

Hi Lee Lee!!!

I will be sticking with what works for sure from now. No more listening to that quack

SO, what are the kids being for hallowen this year?

Trent has been playing dress up all night.....power rangers, pirate, karate man

Now he wants to be Mr Potato Head for Halloween

that would be a cool costume!!

Hungry!! Need my midnight snack!! I'm feeling generally good but still get nauseous.

DD went in for an ultrasound of her liver (just a check from the UTI) and immediately when she saw the pic she goes -- Mommy a baby! Just like you!!!:lmao:

It was really funny! She thought she had a baby inside her too since the pic looked just like the ones I hang on our refrigerator! I had to explain to the nurse technician and we both laughed.

Oh, good idea. We have no plans this weekend. In a little tiff with my moms' group right now so we all canceled our plans to get together and do in October when we're all happy again...:sad2:

glad you are feeling okay, but sorry about the nausea. I think I'd hate that part the most!

How cute....your dd cracks me up!

oh, I also read the post about the mom's group, and I think it's total bull that they are making you feel like crap because you want the rest of the kids to be able to eat normal things. I'd be tempted to find another group. Since, I'm not a mom, I can't give any real advice though. Sorry.

I did that the other day! I took me long to carry the 2 boxes up the basement steps than it did to put the decorations up :rotfl2:
I bought a bunch of new ones. I have no idea what I did with my old ones since I moved (which was like two years ago, so you'd think I would have found them by now). I didn't get to put anything up last year since I had 3 surgeries in October and basically puked the entire month. I'm looking forward to it this year. This is my favorite holiday!
aww, not even for me;)
NO!:lmao:

I think I actually might be going out tonight. That is if I can find a brat sitter. Joe is being especially nice and its SCARY! Especially since I've been in a terrible mood all week due to AF.

No Marshay you are not out of line. I don't understand why the rules are different for this playgroup either. She herself admits that they go to other things with these things there. Unless DD had a special little friend in this playgroup go with another one and avoid all of the stress and strain.

No, did not put a picture up as we are bidding on the costume on ebay.

We are dealing with the allergy thing right now in Trent Class. The girl in her class is allergic to all nuts and especially tree nuts. We can not bring in anything from a bakery or if on the box it said processed in a peanut facility, then those are big no as well

Heres the deal, if she ingests any or if one of the kids have it on their hand, even smallest trace, she could go into anapheltic shock (spelling?)

So, I asked for a list of what she could have. It has helped a lot.

Now, she does not have the dairy or egg thing. That makes it a lot harder for you.

Since she can be in the same place where they have pizza and such, then the dairy one must be just an ingestion one, where she would have allergic reaction.

So I would adhere to the no peanut or tree nut rule, as that is very dangerous.

However, no dairy or egg is a tad bit much I think.

So, I would talk to the mom calmly and see how serious the dairy and egg one is. If it is jut ingestion, like I said, then I would tell her you will still be bringing those in and you will just keep it away from her daughter.

I would not join another group as allergies are everywhere in kids nowadays

Today was Geoffrey's Birthday at Toys R US.

Geoffrey the Giraffe was walking around the store and Trent high Fived him. Glad he was not too afraid. Get him ready for those Disney Characters again.:thumbsup2

They had coloring and arts and craft and gave out Fireman hats and batman maks. Trent had a good time.

Look Mom, I did an Art Project ;)
