Anybody have suggestions? It runs and washes, but won't drain so dirty water just keeps going around and around in there. At the end, water is pooled at the bottom of the dishwasher. DH scooped all of the water out of the bottom, took off the spinner thing and opened up the drain thing. He couldn't find anything blocking the drain. Then he went beneath the dishwasher, but he doesn't know what he should do under there. Anyone have this experience. Before we decide th call in someone to fix it (or to buy a new one), just thought that maybe there was a solution that a Diser knew of. Thanks

Did you check where the drain hose comes out under your sink to make sure it is not kinked or anything?

I had a similar problem when we put in a new dishwasher, although ours just did drain some it just didn't empty fully. The plumber ended up coming back and pulling out the dishwasher and repositioning the drain hose and it has worked fine ever since.

I would also call the manufacturer and ask if they have any trouble shooting ideas.

Good luck!

do you have a water softener in your house? We do, and this happened to us a couple times when we didn't have enough salt in the water (ie, the water was too hard, causing issues w/the draining). So, I had to scoop out all that water in the morning...would have been easier to just wash dishes by hand! Check on the salt though if you do have a softener.

You can try disconnectiong it from the power - Circiut breaker & see if it starts working.

First if you have a garbage disposal make sure you run it really well with a ton of water. Make sure no food scraps are clogging up the filter in the bottom, and then try turning on your dishwasher for just 3 or 4 seconds and then immediately turn it off. Any water in the bottom should quiclky drain. Try it a few times.

Thanks everyone for the replies. We will try these things. We also searched online for the manufacturer's trouble shooting guide and got some hints as well.

Ours did this a couple weeks ago. My DH looked online and did everything he could to unclog, but he couldn't find a cause. He reconnected everything and then it didn't work at all. So I went shopping and am now the proud owner of a new dishwasher. :teeth:

Our d/w was about 10 years old and the original owners has put in the very bottom of the line and I hated it, anyway, and was glad to have a new one. If I had of really liked it I might have tried to get it repaired. We did figure out it was the pump, which is expensive to get replaced and the installer of the new unit confirmed that.

Our new one has a much larger capacity and is quieter.
