Dishwasher. How often do you run it?

I am finding nightly lately whereas is used to be be every other day

Most of the time every other day but sometimes everyday depending on what I cook for dinner. I use lots of pots and pans and cutting boards etc.

Once a week, unless I do a really big meal. When I bake, I do the dishes in the sink as I go.

My kids run it twice a day!

One load every day, but a couple of times a week (usually on weekends when I tend to cook more) I run it twice. It kind of depends on what I'm cooking.

I wanted a glass to get a drink the other day. Now, I loaded up the dishwasher after dinner and ran it after the kids went to bed the day before. I had a glass out then, everything else was in the dishwasher. My wife got home about 11:30 and I went to bed. I don't use any glasses in the morning when I get up for work. The wife and kids get up at 7:30 and the kids leave for school at 8:15. I get home from work at 3:30 and want to get a drink. No clean glasses. I count 18 dirty glasses laying around and my kids were only home awake for 45 minutes and wifey was the only one there all day!

How does that happen?

We usually run it twice a day. The organization of the racks is horrible so that there wouldn't be room for everything from dinner if a light load wasn't done during the day from breakfast and lunch, oh, and of course the 18 glasses my wife seems to use throughout the day.

It;s just DH & I, so it's usually a couple of times per week. It takes us a while to fill it.

I get nutzo thinking about dirty dishes just sitting around even though they are out of sight. Have to run the dishwasher nightly or else

Never. I've only actually used our dishwasher a handful of times total. I'm going to guess that probably isn't a good thing, but I find hand washing dishes to be calming. Weird, right?

ONCE, 24 years ago after we built the house. Our dishwasher, me, will be 61 years old this year.

with 5 people in the house, me, dh and dd's 17,15 and 11 it is run daily and on days where everyone is home it gets run twice

6 of us- so once per day during the week and twice a day on weekends.

About 3X a week usually...when I am off during the summer, I will run it more often because I am around to mess up dishes.
