We're going dishwasher shopping today to finally replace our crappy, bottom-of-the-line GE dishwasher that came with our house. What do you have and what do you like and dislike about it? I'm leaning toward at $700 Maytag (9750) that has a stainless steel interior and a flexible 3rd rack. It also has the 300 SS sound package. Noise is a big consideration for us. Our current washer is horrible and we want one that cannot be heard while running.

My sister got the Bosch that is very quiet. I have a middle GE but can hear in the next room. Still better than our old one noise wise.

Just got a stainless steel (inside and out) Kitchenaid. We did not get top of the line, it is very quiet, I have to go check sometimes to make sure it is on. The next one up to the one we bought has an additional sound package.

The dishes are incrdeibly clean.

I don't particularly like cleaning the stainless steel outside, but I did not much like cleaning my old GE black exterior either.

I am going with Kitchenaid appliances in the future too, FWIW.

Where did you buy your KitchenAid? I don't see that many stores carry them.

I will second the Bosch. I love it! We've had it for about three months now and its fabulous!

We got it at at Sears Appliance store, and we only paid about $500 for it. Its amazingly quiet, and it gets the dishes incredibly clean.

Its so quiet I don't even know its on. My FIL and SIL both have Bosch's as well.

We have the Bosch $549 model...bought it at Lowe's 2 mos. ago with free installation.

Things I love:
--dishes are impeccably clean
--the machine is really quiet

Things I don't love:
--the grid on the bottom rack is too large, and small bowls fall thru the holes.
--my utensils don't fit into utensil rack without forcing them in--the handles are too fat.
--the machine has no dry cycle. It seems like it could at least blow all the water off the dishes so that I don't have to dry them!

OK, and last but not least--when has a dishwasher EVER been large enough, and when has a cycle ever been FAST enough? I've yet to find a dishwasher that fills those needs.

I have a 25 year old Kitchenaid we bought brand new. We never had a repair on it though it's very noisey. The following year's model of Kitchenaid was Whisper Quiet.

My next dishwasher will be a Bosch and so will the stove. The only problem is the dishwasher is in great condition and the darn stove is only five years old.
I'm secretly wishing the dishwasher and stove would die so I can get all new Bosch appliances. I want a Dyson vacuum cleaner too. Wishful thinking on my part as the vacuum cleaner is fairly new.

A top-of-the-line Kitchen Aid..

Very quiet, dishes mostly clean.

Not sure if I would buy again? Prior to this I had a Maytag...didn't like that one.

I would buy Miehle next time I think.

We have a stainless Miele. We've only had it since Septemebr, but so far, so good.
