Can someone compare them please? Not as competition but someone that have done many times Orlando but new to California

What are the must do rides for kids over 8 in California

How do Peter Pan compare (we don't really think it's worthy of fp+ or long waits in Orlando)

Fantasyland in DL is more intimate. And there's a lot more to do. It's very charming, the heart and soul of DL (IMHO).

If you want to do PP, you'll want to do it at rope drop. But lots of others do the same thing. It's frustrating. Since we've done it in both DL and WDW so many times, we often skip it in DL. No Fp at all for it in DL.

I think everyone should try all of the FL rides in DL, regardless of age (assuming they are tall enough for the Matterhorn).

Don't forget Matterhorn has a single rider line.

No FP for any of the Fantasyland rides at DL. Ride is slightly different, London scene for sure. Queue at WDW is outstanding, DL Queue is pretty much outside and not as exciting. DL PP wait times can get up to 45 minutes quite early in the day, but do not get up to 120+ minutes like at WDW.

If you get there at rope drop and skip PP, you can do all of the Fantasyland rides, most multiple times, in the first hour. Fantasyland is much more compact at DL than WDW, not as much walking and more rides. Actual ride preference is really up to you and your little ones, I would say you could easily do them all and then choose which ones you want to do over and over. Dumbo for instance is going to be the same, so if they are over that at WDW, they could skip it at DL.

Have a magical time.

WDW vet, gone to DLR twice (3rd time will be next week). If you don't think PP is worth a long wait at WDW I would not go out of my way to ride it at DL. We always make sure to hit the rides not found at WDW - Mr Toad, Matterhorn, Nemo subs, Alice, Pinocchio, Snow White, Indy etc. Pirates is a must, it is so much better than the one at WDW. Take a look inside the castle. I know that most of those rides are geared towards younger kids but you can only do them there.

This past trip I made a point of checking out the Shrunken Head Ned, red head pirate, and Madame Leota machines. They give out funny fortune cards.

PP in DL is much better, I think. I love the star field you fly through. Almost all the rides in DL's Fantasyland are not in MK. Casey Jr's train is cute and you should really do Storybook Land Canal Boats at night. It's really pretty. I love DL's Fantasyland over MK's because of it's charm. You really feel like you're in a fantasy village. There's no carnival tent awnings to disrupt the immersion.

In your shoes I'd skip PP. It will never be a short line. First thing in the morning is magical in Fantasyland, everyone storms PP so lines are short! Make Alice your priority. It's the 2nd most popular Fantasyland ride and exists in no other parks! Take time to do the Storybook Canal boats. They are adorable. (But closed during parades FYI- oh and Fantasyland closes for fireworks not including Small World.) And do Big Thunder! It is SO much better than WDW. They did a huge remodel a couple years ago, and did an excellent job.

I haven't been to WDW but I have been to DL many times. What others are saying about PP is true, it gets a long line very quickly, but if you are one of the first in line at the gates and don't have much of a delay you can get onto PP before the line really forms. I have been able to do it more often than not and I don't run by any means. But a couple times I have been stuck at the gate for either someone else ticket issue or my own and then by the time I got to PP it had a very long line (delayed almost 10 min or more). We walk fast but still people are passing us left and right but we still make it usually. But that is only because we end up being one of the first ten people in line at our gate. Ive gotten all of FL except Matterhorn and teacups done in a MM hour and was able to do star tours as well. Have gotten almost as much done on a non MM when being close to the front of the rope drop.

If you're going during the week, it's not as bad as on the weekend. During 'off season' (meaning the kids were in school), after rope drop I used to be able to do Space Mountain (and get a fast pass), Matterhorn, then Peter Pan. That would take me 45 minutes to an hour.
