DISers unite! MAMMOTH MAY MEET Epcot on May 17, 2009!

When walking out of the DHS exit, the boat dock is straight ahead and to the left (not to right like the buses).

A lot of people miss this because when taking the bus to DHS or driving then taking the tram, when you arrive you focus your eyes on the DHS gate (which is left) while the boat dock is down the hill a bit on your right.

When leaving DHS, especially if going to the World Showcase in Epcot, if you see a boat coming, or one is at the dock it should be quicker (and a more relaxing ride) because if you take the bus from DHS to EPCOT, you will be dropped off well outside the maingate of EPCOT. Then you have to walk all the way from the bus stop through Epcot to the World Showcase.

The boat will stop 3 times: At the Dolphin/Swan, Beach Club/Yacht Club, and Boardwalk before making it over to the International Gateway which is right between the UK and France Pavillions. We stayed at the Boardwalk our last trip and the circuit takes about 20 minutes once the boat leaves DHS.

It's definately "slow" but when factoring in that you'll probably be waiting for an Epcot bus anyway, have to walk from the Epcot bus stop and being able to avoid the buses altogether for a more relaxing journey, its definately worth a try.

Growing up on the Cape, I'm biased of course when it comes to taking a boat over any other mode of transportation.

Okay, I am going to speak with my t-shirt guy this week about possibly having t-shirts made up for our MAMMOTH MAY MEET! The graphic is on the previous page. It will be printed in a black screenprint on a lime green t-shirt.

I need to have final numbers and sized to my guy by April 15th. The t-shirts will run about $10 per shirt. IF you'd like to order one, please PM me and give me your quantity and sizes. I will coordinate the effort and try to get everyone's t-shirts mailed to them prior to our trip in May! That way, we can wear the t-shirts to the meet!!! Won't that make a great picture?

Thanks! Do you think an hour is enough time to get from DHS to EPCOT? I was thinking I would leave DHS at 2pm in order to make it to the Meet by 3pm.

Or should I take the bus to one of the EPCOT resorts and walk through the International Gateway? If so, which resort is closest?

This is true. If you have a little time built in, as colinsdad stated, it is a nice relaxing boat ride.

We are at 22 right now. That's great, because it is going to give us a couple of options.

Okay - let me start with the bad news. The graphic I put together is not going to fly. I have been informed that the black circles that were intended to look like Mickey are actually a copyright infringement.....SO, that design is out. (Apparently Walt still gets a royalty anytime anyone attempts to put three circles anywhere NEAR the form of a mouse!!)

Also, a little more bad news. I was apparently WAY too optimistic about the price. The shirts are going to run a little more that I expected, but they are going to be really cool!

NOW, on to the good news. I've put together a NEW design that I actually like better than the original one. Also, I thought it would be neat to list all of the DIS ID names on the back of the shirt. This will add a little more to the cost of the t-shirts, but it will make a nice keepsake!!! And who doesn't like to see their name in print?

Okay, I want to give you all some more options.

I spoke with my friend today who does screenprinting. He thinks if I tell everyone between $12 and $14 per shirt, that should be enough for me to cover his invoice, including sales tax, and enough money to ship to everyone....hopefully by May 1st. SO, that's Plan A right now.

Now...here's Plan B. Another friend of mine was telling me about cafepress.com today. It is a web site that allows you to place your artwork on a variety of different items and they sell them and ship them directly. The prices are a little higher, but the product looks really good. I have set up an online store for our MAMMOTH MAY MEET, with a variety of items that can be purchased: t-shirts, buttons, magnets, even beer steins and thongs!!! (seriously!)

Anyway, here is the link to the MAMMOTH MAY MEET online store.

IF you would like to order any items from that site, they will ship to you directly. I am going to hold off on ordering my t-shirts from the online store. I'd prefer to try to use my local guy. But I DID want to give everyone some options.

If for some reason we run into problems with our group order, we can always order t-shirts directly from this online store at cafe press. However, I don't forsee any problems with the group order - and even at $12 - $14 a shirt, they will most definitely be cheaper than ordering from cafepress.

SO....now we have options!!!! Someone as GOTTA order those thongs!! Check out that web site and let me know what you think.

Thanks....I think the design is better also. I put some time in on this design!

I will let everyone know more when I get back with my local screenprinter. In the meantime, next week is SPRING BREAK for me! Woohoo! I will be off all next week.

I knew that I was leaving someone off that list! Anyway, it has been fixed. If you go to the online store, you'll see that that the t-shirt back has been updated to include you - I'm SO sorry about that! Anyway, here is the new graphic for the back of the shirt:

Thanks, Rosie! Let me know what you think of the products at the online store!! They are a little pricey, but at least they are available to us. I am going to order some of the buttons and magnets, but I am going to wait to see if we need to get our t-shirts from them as well. If so, I'll just have them shipped all at one time.
