One thing to keep in mind that I have not seen mentioned on here is that the DIS is moderated and has an 'acceptable code of conduct' is is fairly well enforced and provides a safe haven to share views and opinions, and even to disagree at times.

Facebook does not offer that protection and sometimes, with a large number of folk who are effectively complete strangers, a common love of all things Disney is not enough to keep things civil and pleasant.

There is a current thread on the cruise section talking about the DIS V FB for arranging cruise meets and they thought the opposite of this actually, they felt that although on the DIS there are great MODs still lots of arguements and flaming happen (not in the UK bit of course) where as they've never had this problem on FB which they thought was because on FB you are a real person where as on the DIS you can hide behind a screen name and avatar.

I'll had a look on FB but can't find the UK group that's been set up. Can you kindly PM me a link to it.

But I prefer to come to the DIS boards for my Disney planning. As for meet ups, there is normaly one at Tony Romano's once a year. I'll try and get to another one, one of these days.

Plus there is the Mouse Meets convention held in May, which is great fun and at which a few DIS board members attend.

There is already a big UK Disney community on FB, organising Pin Trading meets and general gatherings already.

I am on FB and some of the Disers are my friends on there. I prefer to come here to get my 'Disney fix' and chat about other stuff on FB, so I sort of keep them separate.

Im a little confused with the idea, it says UK disers but it seems most members are all disers from everywhere,nothing wrong with that, I just dont understand the idea of having a UK disers facebook page when its really a disers facebook page
