Renee: Richard is having the same start as Dana. He started HS too. He already spent 5 hours last night doing homework and has no time to get himself organized. His lock didn't work either so he's been lugging around his backpack all day too.

Maggied: We arrive on the 19th. So far the plan is not to do a park the first day but we've never done that so I'll probably change it. Next week I'm going to try & change our DVC ressie from SSR to AKV & BCV. We've decided against using points at Polynesian LVC.

I LOVE planning others Disney vacations. I have 2 newbies that I met at a neighborhood BBQ on Sunday. One of them is paying me a commission to book the entire trip and schedule their days. The other has a DH that works for ABC so in return she's giving us free park tickets:cool1: We already have AP's for the next trip but now DH will HAVE to go again;)

Can you believe both are going in November (one the week of Thanksgiving) and they haven't planned anything yet:eek:

These people who plan Disney like a trip to the beach just blow my mind! I can't imagine spending that much on a vacation, and not doing any planning. I had everything totally mapped out the first time we went, and hadn't even found the DISboards yet! I'm really jealous that you are both going there again so soon. I'm having planning withdrawals right about now! Our next mini-vacation will be a couple of days at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg in April. But I can't start planning that until February or so. And even then, its go online, reserve a hotel, and buy tickets... no real planning involved. I am really kinda dreading doing a theme park without fast pass!

So are these people... Nov 19 thru the 24th..... I know I have book short trips before but they have NEVER been to WDW I have been twenty something times....- I guess I will just have to do such a great job that they go back again......we wouldn't want to have them not see everything!!!

I was in Williansburg VA this past spring for a 3 day trip... we had tons of fun.... the kids will love it... the water park is great also!!! If you get a chance save a day to tour Colonial Williamsburg and maybe do a Ghost Tour... that is a lot of fun!!!

Okay guys I need some help with this one.... I don't know what to do....

There is a family that we know very well. In fact their daughter and Maggie have been VERY good friends since 4th grade. We have taken her on short trips with us... like to NYC and Tornoto..... anyway they are planning a trip to WDW this winter and they want some advice from me..... well your saying whats the problem... the problem is over the last six months the relationship with Maggie and her "friend" (who we will call Miss X) has gotten very bad.... Maggie is a petite young lady and Miss X is not... when shopping for Prom dressess Miss X really got nasty because nothing fit her and everything looked great on Maggie... then Miss X tried out for Drum Major and was not selected.... because Maggie is head Drum Major she thought she could pull some strings... but it is the band director who picks.... so far sounds like teenage girl stuff... and I have to say her mom and I did a great job of staying out of it.... well then the girl on purpose (we know because another student told us they heard her) put nuts into something Maggie was eating... Maggie is HIGHLY allegeric to nuts and Miss X knows it.... well had to call her parents... they defended her... saying that she would never do this, etc.... but since then two different students have come forward and said they heard her... bottom line it seems like that there is a little jealousy... I have remained friendly to her parents and even agreed not to have her suspended from school (she did it in school and one of the kids that came to us went to the school administration so we had to meet with them).... anyway I think it takes a lot of nerve of these people to ask me to help them......am I being over sensitive? Miss X doesn't even talk to me and I feel like I saved her butt...she really is rude... but her parents remain friendly.... I don't want them to think I am a jerk.... :confused3 :confused3

Dana promises me she will try to get to her locker before the bus some time before NEXT FRIDAY. lol:rolleyes: I can't pressure her; you can tell she's trying very hard to process everything. We had a few tears last night - I think she just broke down from frustration. Of course, it rips my insides apart. But, these are "life lessons", right?

We were debating buying an "equity share" in a new luxury beach club being built in Cape May... it's not a timeshare, because you actually OWN 1/8 of the condo - deeded and all. I think we have decided to wait until it is built and see the demand, even if it means missing out on "pre-construction" prices. The maintence fees and taxes will be quite high, not counting the mortgage payment. I was really wanting to, until I figured it would probably mean not doing any other type of vacation for a number of years, and I'm not ready to do that yet. lol

I was debating Bermuda next summer, but we were there two years ago and Dana's not thrilled about that decision! She wants to do Disney Western Cruise with a stay in California, but when I priced it out, it was obscene. We've got my father's 70th this year, my mother's 70th next year, Bob's 50th the year after, my parent's 50th anniversary the next year, and then our 25th anniversary after that! (throw in Sweet 16 and HS graduation in the mix) I told Bob today forget having a 25th anniversary party - we are going on a cruise!! We'll bring Dana most likely, but that is fine. I'm thinking maybe Celebrity Cruises from NJ to Bermuda, so we don't have to deal with flights, but I have plenty of time for that planning.

Easter break and next summer are what I need to decide now! :cool2:

This is a hard one. You need to decide on how friendly you will remain once this trip is over. I wouldn't base this all on Miss X. You said there is some jealously going on there. No, no some....A WHOLE FRIGGIN' LOT! And the nuts thing would have been the last straw. I can't believe that you "let her off the hook". That is a life and death situation and someone really needs to slap that girl.

So, back to the Disney planning. Seriously, do you think you will remain friendly with the parents? If not, then I would make up a big excuse like how overwhelmed you are with your work (ha...I've seen the market ;) ) and/or family situations right now.

If you plan on remaining friends, then by all means help them.

Okay....hope I helped. Now I don't owe you nuttin' for them tickets! :rotfl2:

Thanks Doctor DM................lucky for us one of the kids that her Miss X grabbed Maggie and told her to check her food.........Maggie thought the cafeteria folks messed up.........:confused3

I will see them tomorrow at the Marching Band preview show.... maybe they will forget that I know anything about Disney....:lmao:

Wow - that is verging on criminal activity in my eyes - jealousy or not - she could have KILLED Maggie!

My vote is to politely have as little to do with them as possible! Give her some websites and some ideas - stay pleasant, but aloof. But, are they the type of people to sabatoge your soon to be new adventure as travel agent?

Just my humble opinion.

Had to share this with you! :goodvibes I have NO artistic ability - all of that type of creativity went to my "music" - any type of arts & craft went right out the window. That is why this is so AMAZING! :cool1: My friend and I went to "Diva Night" at the ceramic studio - included dinner and making a pasta bowl... what it really came down to was the pattern was sketched already, so it was more like adult "paint by number"! But, let's face it, that's just my speed...

Here's my finished product! I'm SO proud. :rotfl:
