Courtney... how exciting! Bless you trying to pack for a trip while moving and unpacking! I can barely find what I need to pack to begin with! As for boxes, try www.craigslist.com. Here we have TONS of listings for people trying to get rid of moving boxes... and often they are the really nice U-Haul ones.

Maggie... have fun with Mom! Are the kids out of school yet? Anything fun planned?

I checked that site, and they don't have any around the BR area--- There was actually someone on there that posted that they needed some.... I just gotta keep my eyes on the lookout... I've been using trashbags too for towels, sweaters, things like that.

We had our first house on the market for ONE FULL YEAR before it sold. Everytime I saw a house, I thought, "Oh! This is it!!" and then our's didn't sell, and we'd miss out on it. It was such a roller coaster of emotions.

Then, one day I drove by a "for sale by owner" - and FELL IN LOVE. It was a bit higher than what we could afford, but it was perfect. I made Bob come to see "could we POSSIBLY pull this off?" and he "did the numbers"... I tried very hard not to get my hopes up, and just prayed and prayed. The next week, we got an offer on our old house and the people on the new house took our bid, which was a little lower than they had already been offered - because they thought we were a "nice family who would love the house as much" as they had. We closed on Dana's 4th birthday! We'll be here 10 years in August!

It's great that you can move in gradually, Courtney! We had to close the same day - the new house people were such angels, they let us move boxes a week before we closed! But all the big stuff had to happen the same day. Told Bob I'm never moving again!

Such a great story! I can't believe your house was on the market for a year! That's insanity! How nice of that family to accept yalls offer! Wow! Ours wasn't the same--- we went back and forth--- but we were both dealing w/ realtors so I have yet to meet the current owner--- but I do know we share the same first name- weird, huh?!

No, I'm not trying to be mean. I do understand how you may feel guilty about talking about her. I vented a bit on my PTR about my MIL even though I really love her and there are way more good qualities than bad. However, I think we all may need to do a little venting from time to time and it really does help to vent to people who can give you the support and are not close enough to cause problems. We're here for you sista!

I am in shock...

A client just called to book petsitting for 7/3-7/11. Then she mentions she's surprising her 2 children for their first trip to Disney. Of course, my ears perk up & I offer to answer any questions. She tells me the airfare is booked but not the room & their thinking of staying at POFQ. I asked her if she's going to do the DP & she's says yes because we want to do alot of character meals.
I wanted to say HELLO do you realize your going the week of July 4th!!! but I was good & kept my mouth shut.

Maybe it won't be too bad for them to make ADRs...I made a breakfast ADR for Chef Mickey's on 7/1 today I had a choice of 7:50 or 10:50...one a earlier than I wanted and the other later but at least I was able to get one.

Wow LizA--- That's going to be SO much fun.... But I'm telling you, don't look until you're ready to buy--- Once you walk in a house that's meant to be yours, you get this feeling of attachment.... and if you're not ready to buy, it's hard to walk away.... Still exciting though! Yes, it does sound like your move will be way more extensive than ours-- we haven't accumulated that much stuff yet!

Well, right now we are mainly looking at floor plans & subdivisions but we have seen some that we really like. We are trying to pay off some debt and I do the bills so I'm not letting myself get attached to anything yet...now DH is a different story he has already found "the" house!!

Castaway & MaggieD - we found Amanda a clarinet at a pawn shop and bought it the other day...it looks like it has hardly ever been played and it was a great price...it is a Buffet E11...from all I have read it is a really good one for her to learn on and keep for years...now I just hope she enjoys playing it!!

I thought about it for about 10 seconds... then remembered how frizzy my hair gets when short! My hair is too thick for most short hair styles, and WAY too much "natural body" for anything that is supposed to look sleek. No pretty curls... just frizz that goes back to its natural state about 30 minutes after styling! (No matter how much styling products I apply!)

Try when you get down there to get CR, and move the times of the other 2. I hear many times of ADRs being available day of from people canceling. You could get the concierge to do it... they may have more luck than you do.

Alyssa (3) and I just had the BEST conversation....we were sitting on the deck after we got off of the trampoline (yes, me on the trampoline too) and she said "Let's talk about Disney World" so we started talking and she was telling me everything that she wants to do like Goofy's Barnstormer, Spaceship Earth, Playhouse Disney, The Bug Show, the Tea Cups, Winnie the Pooh & get suckers afterwards and she kept on. Then I asked her when we were going and she said this summer!!! I told her that we had not saved enough pennies to go yet (I know I'm bad) and she told me that we had saved enough and that we could go next weekend...she is going to be so excited when she finds out that we are actually going!!!! It was sooo hard to keep the secret at that moment...when DH got home we told him what she had said and I could tell he was tempted to tell her too!!! Only 22 more days & I will have the happiest 2 girls on the planet!!!!

DH & I were talking tonight about changing CJ's & try for 1900pf. I know we are not doing the DP on our next trip. I really want to try it but I won't pay $28 per child OOP for them and they prefer buffets.

Well, we still talk about Disney at the dinner table...we have since we got back from our trip in Jan 06...we always say "the next time we go to Disney I want to..." So us talking about it now is nothing new. But I'll admit it is going to get harder the closer it gets!!
