DM think your idea is great, all for it. Had a busy day yesterday, Had to clean house, do:laundy: , Have DH Aunt, Unlce and cousins coming in today and on Sunday my mom will be up for the week. So I won't be online next week at all while she is here.

Courtney so excited for you and the house.:goodvibes

Wow LizA--- That's going to be SO much fun.... But I'm telling you, don't look until you're ready to buy--- Once you walk in a house that's meant to be yours, you get this feeling of attachment.... and if you're not ready to buy, it's hard to walk away.... Still exciting though! Yes, it does sound like your move will be way more extensive than ours-- we haven't accumulated that much stuff yet!

Thanks castaway!

Courtney... how exciting! Bless you trying to pack for a trip while moving and unpacking! I can barely find what I need to pack to begin with! As for boxes, try www.craigslist.com. Here we have TONS of listings for people trying to get rid of moving boxes... and often they are the really nice U-Haul ones.

Maggie... have fun with Mom! Are the kids out of school yet? Anything fun planned?

Sounds pretty good... my only negative comment is that if we post a whole day report at a time... we may need more than 1 photo. :confused3 What do you think? I do love the idea of links on the first page... that will make reading much easier.
I totally understand where you are coming from with this one. That's why I posted this early to see what people thought. I guess that I have seen people on other threads posts a whole bunch of pictures at once and it seems to lose something that way. I think we should keep it to still posting only 1 day's worth, with all the photos you want of that day. If someone has an unreal number of photos for a particular day, maybe they could post ½ day's worth.

I guess we'll see how it goes when we actually start with the TRs. If we need to "scale it down" so as to not overwhelm all at once, then we will definitely make that suggestion.

I'll tweak the wording on that post and I'm sure everyone will be happy, or at least most will!

I think it would be more fun to stretch that thread out as long as we possibly can. That's another reason why I was suggesting to keep the posts short and sweet at first. It will definitely help with the post-Disney blues!

That sounds great! Although I will admit that I dread writing a TR. Too much like work to me!

I am in shock...

A client just called to book petsitting for 7/3-7/11. Then she mentions she's surprising her 2 children for their first trip to Disney. Of course, my ears perk up & I offer to answer any questions. She tells me the airfare is booked but not the room & their thinking of staying at POFQ. I asked her if she's going to do the DP & she's says yes because we want to do alot of character meals.
I wanted to say HELLO do you realize your going the week of July 4th!!! but I was good & kept my mouth shut.:rolleyes1

That's why we are doing this combined TR for all you "lazy" people. I am still going to do my own in-depth TR on a separate thread.

If you don't want to do a lot of writing, maybe your part could be posting pictures with explanations of them. Everyone can do whatever they are comfortable with. I think that for anyone who is going to do an in-depth report like I am, a separate thread on their own would be appropriate with still posting here too! :thumbsup2

That must have been a difficult call! I ran into an old coworker at the Disney Store and he and his family were going to Disney the week of July 4th also. I asked them if they were doing the DDP and they said that I was the 2nd person to suggest that to them but they didn't know. It was obvious that none of their ADRs were made and they were newbies. I so much wanted to tell them they should get their butts moving but they didn't seem interested in any more "knowledge". Good luck to them!

Hey stop calling me lazy:lmao: I always have intentions of writing a TR, but never get past like the first day.

It is hard to write a TR, especially when there are so many "cliques" on these boards. I started to write one back in 2003 and had a couple of people read it but I never finished it. Now that I have built up my "fan base" :lmao: I'll feel more comfortable in writing one.

Seriously though, this upcoming combined TR will be great for the people who like to still post about their vacations but not feel the pressure that comes along with it. I'm sure some of you have read a TR by a person called Blayne who has been MIA for over a month now. Some people have gotten a bit nasty about her not finishing her TR. I have given up looking for her updates and it's a shame because she had a good report going.

I am positive there will be no gaps in our TR! :cool1:

Hey, I like the idea because I am one of those lazy people who never finished their trip report.:lmao:
Oh yes...I remember your trip report vaguely. You were the one trying to blame a most innocent person for all your troubles. Now, what was her name? Hmm...was it OBLIVIA??? :rotfl2:

OMGoodness-- You should see my current house! It's a mess! I've got boxes everywhere. I actually ran out of boxes so I've been calling around to try and get more... The plan is to close on Wednesday (one week)... That night we are going to go there to clean, etc. Really clean drawers, etc. Then Thursday we both have work, but Thursday night we'll bring a few boxes here and there. I have off of work on Friday, so I'll be doing a lot that day. I can do a bunch by myself as far as clothes, boxes, kitchen stuff, etc. We have a painter coming Friday, and a guy installing wood floors in the bedrooms on Thursday and Friday. B/c of that, the floors have to sit for two days--- we'll move living room furniture in on Friday night; we'll move everything else on Sunday when the floors are ready to have weight on them. I'm so excited! And then, after Sunday the 10th, I can really start getting excited for Disney!!!!

Courtney, you must be so excited!

Good luck with everything! Keep us posted.

This all sounds great! I've always kind of wanted to write a trip report but it was way too intimidating! There are so many great writers out there and I'm definitely not one of 'em! It'll be great to keep our thread going and to hear about everyone's trips. Hopefully it'll make coming home a little easier!

Oh, good lord! What are people thinking! :scared: :sad2: :faint:

I don't think I could've kept my mouth shut! I have a bad habit of giving all kinds of unwanted Disney advice! :rolleyes1 I can't help it! It's in my blood. :)

Oh, ya'll are so mean! And I assure you she is NOT innocent. But, I was feeling a little guilty about talking about her(even thought it was true) so it made it hard to continue. I think I will wrap it up in a few days so I can have closure. It will just be a quick wrap up with minimal Oblivia moments, even though that's what made it so entertaining.

No, I'm not trying to be mean. I do understand how you may feel guilty about talking about her. I vented a bit on my PTR about my MIL even though I really love her and there are way more good qualities than bad. However, I think we all may need to do a little venting from time to time and it really does help to vent to people who can give you the support and are not close enough to cause problems. We're here for you sista! :grouphug:

I know. I already called her back & gave her the wdwig & disboards sites. If she asked, I would have planned the whole week for her;)

We had our first house on the market for ONE FULL YEAR before it sold. Everytime I saw a house, I thought, "Oh! This is it!!" and then our's didn't sell, and we'd miss out on it. It was such a roller coaster of emotions.

Then, one day I drove by a "for sale by owner" - and FELL IN LOVE. It was a bit higher than what we could afford, but it was perfect. I made Bob come to see "could we POSSIBLY pull this off?" and he "did the numbers"... I tried very hard not to get my hopes up, and just prayed and prayed. The next week, we got an offer on our old house and the people on the new house took our bid, which was a little lower than they had already been offered - because they thought we were a "nice family who would love the house as much" as they had. We closed on Dana's 4th birthday! We'll be here 10 years in August! :dance3:

It's great that you can move in gradually, Courtney! We had to close the same day - the new house people were such angels, they let us move boxes a week before we closed! But all the big stuff had to happen the same day. Told Bob I'm never moving again!
