Courtney, that house is gorgeous!! Thanks for sharing the pics! I love to look at houses - I watch real estate shows and look at houses for sale online all the time. Hopefully someday I'll be able to have a house of my own!

Thanks R and B!!!

We live an hour from New Orleans... We didn't deal with the flooding like New Orleans did, but we dealt with the aftermath. Don't get me wrong- we lost power for 4 days.... We actually got more damage due to Rita (some siding issues that we had to get fixed)... We actually went out during the storm b/c the fence down the street was flying over. So, Ryan and I went out and tried to brave the rain and wind and tie it down so it wouldn't cause damage to any other structure, car, etc.

The aftermath was awful. We had a lot of extra people in town due to the fact that they couldn't go back to NO. Our traffic was (and still kinda is) AWFUL.... AWFUL I tell you. Our housing market roared. I mean, super high prices.... IE- We've lived in our townhouse for five years---- and since Katrina, we'll make 45K on the sale of it... Just for living in it. That parts good, but then again, we are paying more for this house than we would have before the storm too.

We are very excited about the house... Here's the details on the house:

- 3 bedroom/2 full bath + office
- 4 year old home
- Open floor plan
- Wood floors in den and formal dining
- Ceramic tile in kitchen, breakfast, bathrooms
- Carpet in bedrooms and office
- Gas cook top with granite counters in kitchen
- Snack bar/island with slab granite in kitchen
- Large den with granite fireplace
- Custom blinds throughout house
- Large Whirlpool tub with separate shower in master bath
- Huge walk-in closet in master bedroom
- Beautiful triple crown molding
- Large fenced in yard
- Walk to private lake
- Security system
- Safe family oriented neighborhood
- 2106 Living area
- 2773 Total Area
- Living room 18x14
- Kitchen 13.5x11
- Dining room 13.4x10.8
- Utility room 8x5
- Office 8x8
- Master bedroom 16.7x14.6
- Bedroom 12.3x11.9
- Bedroom 13.6x12

Courtney I remember I have extended family down in your area. I'm not sure of the exact city but I do have some extended family down there.

Try to find out where! We have so many small towns in LA--- some I've never even heard of!

M- are you done with school now? Are you doing summer school?

I will try to find out but it's family I hardly see or talk to, so we're not sure.

I am done till end of August then I start back up with school, if you are talking to me Court. I don't know for sure.

Yes, I was talking to you... That's great that you are done for a few months!!! Are you going to be working this summer?

Probably not. I spent a good time sick with bad sinus infections and this semester was awful. I've got a busy summer with cleaning and just enjoying having some free time. I did summer class last year and it burnt me out. I do volunteer work for two weekends for our local PBS station. I've got some concerts planned that I would love to go to and now there's a chance I may have my nephew all summer. :scared1:

So very true about that. I'm looking forward to it. I've got my carry on figured out and we're driving down to the Nashville area that Thursday before we leave because the last thing is I want to run into ya'll when I've had very little sleep cause our flight leaves at 7:15 meaning we would have to leave here at like 2 or 3

I'm not sure how many times we need to repeat this, DawnMaree.. is NO ONE PAYING ATTENTION?!?!?! WE most certainly DO NOT have an accent!!! :snooty: ::stomping foot:: :lmao:

Nap?? What's a nap? Can someone fill me in?! :lmao: Dana NEVER took a nap. I am convinced she was afraid she was going to MISS SOMETHING!!! Luckily, she did sleep through the night at a very young age, but when she was AWAKE - she was AWAKE!!!! :cool1:

Don't you stomp your foot at me, ma'am! Us southern girls don't take kindly to that kind of attitude. ::head shaking and hands on hips:: :rotfl2:

Avery still takes a 3 hour nap about 3-4 days a week. I am very spoiled! She will sleep in the carseat, but only in 1/2 hour or so increments. After several broken naps, she gets REAL nasty! She will not sleep in the stroller at all. If anything at all is going on... she will never miss it!

Loved the pics of Dana... especially with the music director.

Court... LOVE the house! Will you keep the island there? Wynn wants to build an island in our kitchen, but I won't let him. I love an open floor. An island is just one more thing for me to kill myself on!!

Thanks Kari!!! I haven't 100% decided where I'm going to keep the island... Either where it is when the previous owners stuff is in the room (in the center), or where it is now (on the edge to make more of a square)... I'm still trying to decide what I want to do with the breakfast area on that end of the kitchen, so it depends... Mother has an island in the middle in her kitchen and it's so useful... The GREAT thing is, if I don't like where I put it, I can just move it! :cool1: :cool1:

Courtney - I love your new house. It is just beautiful. What do you think you are going to do for decorating? Do you already have things or will you have to buy anything? Like decorations, furniture, curtains... etc. June 6 will be here before you know it!!! I have to wait until May 24th. While I was at Home Depot getting my first stack of LGMHs, I bought some home decorating books. The first thing I need to do is decide what I want to do as far as window coverings. I have no idea what to do. It looks like your house has blinds and some windows have drapes. There are so many things to decide. Anyway... your house looks really nice!!

OKay so I'm going to try to either go see Ernie on the 22nd of this month with Tyrone Wells. Go on June 9th and see Lady A with five other acts. Or go June 10th and see Josh Kelley with like 8 other people maybe. It really depends on my friends and if they can take off.

Kari - you have to remember, I'm a tough city girl - I'm 100% "attitude"! (SO kidding here.. :lmao: ) Someday I'll tell you about the time this 4 foot 9 little fiesty Italian kicked a guy out of a bus in the middle of Manhattan...

Nice for you that Avery will still nap sometimes! But, it is SO the truth that they don't want to "MISS" anything. Have you read "The Hello, Goodbye Window"? There's an adorable line about the child going for a nap... she says, "then I go for the nap and nothing happens until I wake up again"..

I have a "peninsula", not an actual "island", but I LOVE it!! It really comes in handy! Makes my work area a huge "U" with an extra dining area off to the side. My first house had a teeny tiny kitchen, and this one is really big - since I enjoy cooking and Christmas baking, this kitchen was the first thing to sell me on my house!!;)

Sounds lovely! Wear it in good health!:)

Are you an August baby? That's Dana & my birthstone, peridot....

Bob had a ring made for me for my 40th birthday - I wasn't even thinking LIME GREEN... now I guess I must bring it to Disney! :goodvibes
mine is a band with peridot baugettes and tiny diamonds in a line across along the top and bottom of the baugettes.. personally, it makes me a little crazy because it tends to "catch" on things.. but I can't complain too loudly, because Bob designed it. LOL :rolleyes1

No, I'm not an August baby...my birthday is in February...I'm actually a Leap Year Baby!! Both of my parents' birthdays are in August if that counts. DH just knows that I like different colored stones over the years he has gotten me...amethyst (my birthstone), pink tourmaline, blue topaz, tanzanite, emerald, opal, ruby, garnet & now peridot rings. Once he got me a pink ice and we took that back...it wasn't real :rotfl: ! None of them are very big but it is very nice to have colorful rings to go with my different outfits...now I just need a saphire...

LizA--- So cute about your DD's dance recital!!!! I can't wait for ours-- -June 16th- the little ones are the funnest to watch b/c you never know what they are going to do! Yall are able to film the show? We don't allow it- we get them professionally filmed so we don't allow cameras or video equipment in the theatre... Most places are like that around here- you can film the rehearsal, but not the actual recital./QUOTE]

Yes, it is very unusual that we get to film the recital when there is a professional videographer. But really most people still purchase the DVD...we only video DD's dance & getting her trophy...keeping the camera on her the entire time of course! Then we have the DVD of the entire show. They love to watch the DVDs of the show so much...we have never regretted purchasing them!!

A funny thing happened with the videographer yesterday...for years DH & I have thougth that he was the guy that filmed our wedding but we weren't sure since the photographer booked him. Well, yesterday I asked him if he does weddings and told him that I thought he did ours almost 16 years ago...he said that he remembered us and then when I brought up the fact that we wore Mickey & Minnie ears when we left the church he really remembered us...he even remembered that no one but us, the photographer & him knew that we were going to wear them!!

I love your new house Courtney!! It is so pretty!! It doesn't look like you will have to do anything to it before you move in...will you?

Oh Red Robin is very good & the bottomless steak fries are great!!

Courtney, your house is very pretty and I like those specs.

I keep forgetting. We have Red Robin around here. Used to be one of our favourite places. Michael loves them and that's where he would pick to go for his b-day dinner if we weren't going to Disney. However, about a year ago we started have bad service experience at them. Our last three or so times we have actually left with gift cards for complaining. Things like no cheese on our French Onion Soup and not bringing out the kids food until after the meal was delivered to us (who does that?). We have stopped going but I'm sure we'll go again because Michael loves the french fries there and really ff are the only things he eats when we go to restaurants. LOL

I get mad when restaurants bring out the kids food early. Around here, they bring the kids food about 10 minutes before anyone else's. So by the time our dinner arrives, the kids are done eating, and getting bored. We usually request their meals held, and served with ours.

Court... once you get your kitchen table in place, you will know exactly where the island needs to go. I personally like it in the empty pics, only because I am lazy... and would hate to have to keep walking around it! I do wish I had a peninsula, and a spot for bar stools. Unfortuneately, the "flow" of my kitchen doesn't really allow for it. It would limit the walkway that goes to my laundry area/garage door/side door. I am VERY jealous of your laundry room! I have a closet off of the kitchen. I also do not have a garden tub. I do hope to correct that when we add on to the house, though! Will you keep the colors? I really like the den... very warm, and still neutral.

Renee... you may be a tough city chick... but I have at least 5 inches on you! And if I decide to put a little butt into it... you don't have a chance! But if its a war of words... you'll probably win, since I don't speak Yankee! :rotfl:

They just opened a Red Robbin here. So we tried it. It was around 4:00 so they weren't really busy. The food was great. My kids loved the endless fries. They didn't bring my sister her food when they brought everyone elses and the waiter said he would be right back... well about 10 minutes later she still didn't have her food. He came by and asked how the food was and I said mine was good but that my sister didn't know because she didn't have any. So he left again and about 5 minutes later brought hers out. They gave us her meal free and if they didn't I would have complained. But... the food was really good.

Glad I dont have the only child who doesnt sleep in a stroller. I think Faith is afraid of missing something if we are out and about and she falls asleep. She likes to be part of the action. I am just hoping in the car ride down, sleep will eventually take over her little body LOL... I can hope:rotfl:

I think we have one of those places around here, but not too close by. I am glad you enjoyed your food. I hate when that happens, how they "forget" one persons dinner, and you are just sitting around waiting etc.. glad they gave you one free meal at least.
