I'm here dising on my new computer. It freaked the crap out of me when my picture came up when I was setting everything up.:lmao:

Well...DH is going to kill me when he gets home but I just booked the Island Suite at Buena Vista Palace for the first 2 nights. Travelzoo had a code & the suite is only $139 per night & includes a buffet breakfast. I read a ton of reviews & it sounds wonderful + I'm saving $700.

So now I need a rental car:guilty: off to find some more codes.:thumbsup2

Hey! What's goin' on. I have been to busy to get on much lately.
Mandy, we are going to be at the Poly on the 21st I hope. My CM friend just called yesterday and told me she had not booked my room yet, so I hope I can still get it. If not, we might be at the Contemporary or GF. I just wanted to be there that night since we would be launching our cruise from there.

Awesome if so you might see me there before the cruise.

This will be our check in day. I hope to get there by 2 or 3 and swim for a few hours then rest go to dinner at Ohana and then to the Wishes Cruise!:cheer2:

We may be out swimming, I don't know. I know we have the Pirate Cruise that morning. Oye Matey!

Courtney... Yesterday at the vet I was talking to a chic with a 9 wk pomeranian. She was talking about the cute clothes for dogs... so I gave her your website. She wrote it down in her paperwork, so I'll keep my fingers crossed!

DM... just posted on your Epcot meet... we're in! I can't wait to meet everybody!

By the way, Star is fine. She had a reaction to the rabies shot. She had some swelling in her hip, and is very sore. They put her on pain meds, and she feels much better today. I get so worried when she is sick... she acts just like a man! Whining and pitiful!:rotfl:

Go Kari!!!! Keep promotin' girl! Thanks for spreading the word!!!!

I'm glad Star is feeling a little better... Maddie doesn't do well with her shots either... She's so lathargic for the rest of the day... It's really sad!

I guess everyone was just as busy as I was yesterday! Picking up more Disney stuff!!!

Let's get this thread back into gear folks!

I couldn't sleep last night. I'm very nervous about staying offsite. We've never done it.

DH took it better than expected. He doesn't mind the room but is not thrilled with dealing with the rental car.

I figured it out this morning and we're saving at least $800 not staying at OKW and not doing the DP the first 2 nights.

I may have to change the schedule a bit. We were going to go to MK the first day & dinner at Kona but I've read it's a pain to drive to MK. I thought we might valet park at Polynesian, go to MK then back for dinner. We get it for free at DVC members but I'm not sure it's allowed because the car would be there for about 5 hours.

I also booked a minivan to pick up at MCO & dropoff at Dolphin when we switch to BWV for $123 friday - monday. Does anyone know if this is a good rate? or should I keep trying for less.

Oy...my head is spinning:upsidedow

I understand what you mean about staying offsite when you are used to staying onsite. I hope the "off-siters" don't take offense to this but this opinion is coming from a person who just loves staying onsite. Staying offsite really is a letdown when it comes to your whole "Disney-inside feeling". I hope you know what I am talking about. However, having said that, if you are only offsite for a couple of nights and then are going onsite, then I don't think it will be that big of a deal if you are saving money. Plus the fact that you will even appreciate being onsite once you are there!

And $123 BWV nightly??? Are you seriously asking if that is a good rate? If I could slap you silly through this computer I would. I am thinking that you are just trying to rub it in our faces how cheap you have it there!

No offense taken:rotfl: I am ALWAYS an offsiter. Ok, when I was about 10 we went on a family trip to Disney and stayed at the Comtemporary(Sorry that is so spelled wrong)...Other then that we dont stay on site. I cant justify the money to stay on site. We have always stayed off site, sometimes at some really wonderful time shares , thanks to my parents. Now, we stay at regular old hotels. For example, I have read on this Dis board that the value resort rooms as just as small as a regular off site hotel room. For us we look for specific things, a hotel room with a free fridge and microwave, that is a big MUST... and we wont go to a hotel that will charge extra for these. If we can get a free cont breakfast, that is even better. We dont normally eat at many sit down Disney restaurants, again because of money. We have been known to go to the room at night and order a pizza and then have left overs for the next day. We also have been to know to go to Wendy's for dinner/Subway whatever is on the way. We normally eat the counter service places in the parks for lunch only. We LIKE having a car, and we like being able to come and go as we please. I am not one for waiting for buses. If the kids are cranky... then I want to leave right then and there, no waiting around for me.I like being able to come back and forth to the parks with no waiting. I like being able to have a car and go driving down the tourist spots and hitting all the gift shops. One day when I hit the lottery, my wish would to be to stay at the AKL...Other then that.. this cheapo family does Disney the cheapo way... We have our rituals about driving to MK...we try to guess where we will park, and what section we will be in. I love taking the Ferry over , expecially in the morning when everything is still calm and peaceful. Would I love to have the money and stay onsite...sure...but now we do disney the cheapo way, and we still have a very fun and magic experience.

Has anyone ever used the Disney Magical Express? I am trying to read and learn all I can about it. I have never used it. I am setting up all my mom's plans to join us. I have her flying in, and she is going to use it. Her flight doesn't get in until 5:45 p.m. I have read that it can take up to three hours to get your luggage. (Of course I have read many bad experiences about people not getting luggage at all) That means she wouldn't have her luggage until around 9:00 p.m. I am worried that this is too late. I know she wants to relax and get setteled in and take my step-brother who is 9 swimming. I just don't know how it would work out. Does anyone have any info that can help me? Or any tips? This is their first trip flying and first trip to WDW so I want things to go smoothly. I wish I could be with them. The airport at Orlando is so big!! I am really worried. I will gladly take any advice!!

Just make sure your mom packs a decent size carryon with whatever she may want for when she arrives and maybe for settling in in the evening. Yes, it can take up to 3 hours or so for the luggage to arrive but she does not need to be in the room when it comes. They will deliver it when it arrives (no tipping then ;) ). If she is really uncomfortable about not having all her luggage there, then she can get her own at the luggage retrieval and put it on the bus with her. Personally, for the time she is arriving, she should let DME handle the bags as long as she has everything she needs in her carryon. That would make it the smoothest for her.

I was thinking of you before I wrote that comment. I really don't want to offend anyone because I totally realize that everyone has their own likes and dislikes and money is always an issue too!

I have thought that it would be really cool to rent a vacation home for a week and have the whole family stay (brother's family, mom & dad) but then my Disney mind knows that I would probably be missing staying onsite. Call me spoiled with that! :upsidedow

One thing that I totally like is NOT renting a car. We don't mind the bus transportation at all.

The mini van is $123. If BWV was $123 I would stay for month;) We'll only be offsite for 2 nights. I think it will be ok. I remembered I also won't need garden grocery for delivery + the fans. We can pick that up ourselves now
