I guess I am lucky that he doens't care how much I go or the kids.... he kind of figures he goes on a hunting trip every year so this is something fun we like to do.... we have a summer home that we all go and spend time at so that is our fun time together.... we take the ATV's out and the boat and have a great time fishing and sitting around the camp fire......

Luckily my dh is a big Disney geek too, but he doesn't really like to admit it. But he does know that a good plan is essential at Disney World, or else your in trouble. Time is money you know and at Disney even more so!

I agree 100% ... IMO, it's the only way you can actually get stuff done. B/c you've strategiezed in advance instead of doing it within an enormous crowd!

Where does he go hunting? Ryan loves to hunt too but his big thing is fishing... Hopefully we'll get a boat within a year or so. Gotta get a bigger house first so we actually have a place to store the boat!

And where's your summer home??? Wish I had one at the beach in Florida!

He hunts pretty much in the northeast... PA and north... he loves those northern whitetails.... he is happy to sit in the woods in a treestand for hours... :confused3 my DH retired from 21 years active duty Air Force about 2 years ago... he is just starting to look for a job... he wanted to spend some time with the kids as he worked soooooooooooo much before... he has spent many hours fishing the last couple of years... fly fishing, bass fishing, walleye fishing, ice fishing..... you name it - if it has fish - he is there:) it makes him happy so it makes me happy... after all he spent so many years at a very stressful job I couldn't deny him a few years... he has had a couple of offers.... just not the perfect one yet....

Our summer home is in the Finger Lakes Region of New York...Honeyoye Lake... beautiful area... we have about 55 acres so it allows us to have our toys and some good hunting spots too! We also have the lake and an inground pool there so it is comfortable... the place is nice but not to fancy.... just a two bedrooms, one bath, living room, dining room and kitchen... my fav. part is the wrap around porch.... it is great to watch the sunsets at night.....

Wow- your summer home sounds amazing!!!! Maybe I'll need to take a visit to Honeyoye lake to visit!!!!! What a great place you have there!

And I'm sure something will come up with your DH job--- He'll know when the right one comes along. Please tell him that I, personally, want to thank him for his years of service to our country! Go USA!!

Hello Magic.... we are still trying to fill those other two cruise spots.... I will keep posting on the other boards..... can't wait to cruise with ya!!!!!!!!

Yeah, it's going to be fun! We should be able to fill those 2 spots. It seems like there are always so many people looking for cruises! But we'll see what happens.

Since there's been all this talk of husbands who don't really like Disney, I can comiserate. He only comes every 2 or 3 trips because he's so sick of it. And just tonight I got a lecture because I told him I had booked a trip during free dining. I just couldn't resist! He said I had to cancel, but I've got a while to work on him. It's getting to the point where he thinks I'm being totally rediculous. I've been going just about every 4 months for the past 2 years. Maybe he's right, but if it makes me happy and I can afford it, I'm gonna keep on going! :rolleyes1

I wonder how many couples split up because of a Disney obsession...

I will let him know... my sisters two sons are now in the Air Force as well... one is stationed in the Azores (off of Portugal with his wife and 7month old daughter) and the other is in Iraq right now... keep him in your prayers... he is due home in a couple of weeks... back to his bride... they had to delay their honeymoon because he volunteered to go to Iraq... they will be going to Disney in September for free dining... staying at POP... I am so excited for them.... they are great boys and I am very proud of them

Yes the lake is beautiful.... its a great place for us to go as a family.... I guess we are lucky that our DD is 17 and DS is 14 and they still want to go places and do things with us.... they are great kids!

sorry for the double post

I guess we are lucky our husbands tolerate our obsession.... you are braver than I ... I haven't had the nerve to tell my DH about the next April trip yet.... might wait until Christmas for that....:lmao:

my DD wants her lap top back so I gotta go... have a great evening everyone....

Can I say how jealous I am? I want a laptop really bad but can't justify that cost now! I'll have to sit here in my dining room in a tucked away spot....:guilty:

I thought an "official" post for DIS Meets were in order. I posted links to them on the front page post.

Good idea!!! That, and some "hints" for myself to remember certain things, especially at AK because I still feel like newbies there.

Thank you, Dawn Maree, for all your hard work!!! Want to plan the rest of my vacation, too?! :lmao:

I'm glad you are putting everything on the first page - since I am STILL trying to catch up on all the postings - how DARE we take a trip to Boston?! I am SO backed up on my posts! lol I'm trying to convince DH to get a laptop this month... so I can DIS in the same room as he is watching ESPN! At least we would be 'together'. :goodvibes

I hope everyone is safe with all the storms - we had two detours on the way to the theatre today - lots of rains and flooding... Saw "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" - VERY good... especially the dancing!

Hope everyone's little ones feel better too! I'm still trying to catch up - but thinking good thoughts for all of you.. Oh - and Happy Belated Birthday, Mandy! princess:

Thanks singingmom. See ya'll need to live in TN, we have a weekend coming up any computer under 1,500 is tax free!

Aw man, I should have driven up there to buy mine. It only takes me about 30 minutes to get to TN from here. Or was it only for TN residents?

I know I know... Bad husband he is being!!!!

Truthfully, 98% of the time I get my way in whatever I want to do. And this time, he's just not giving in. I wish he would but I can't fight him on it. He wants to be able to "fly by the seat of his pants" when we are there, and other than our ADRs, he wants to be able to "do whatever".... Bad husband.

Ryan sounds like us, Courtney! We are "doing whatever, whenever" this visit! :cool1:

But, I will wear my LGMH on my Coach bag... (best Christmas gift this year...a Coach "swingpack", instead of a fannypack... this fits across my shoulder. I'll let DH lug the water bottles.... ;) ) so hopefully we will run into some of you that last week of June!! :grouphug:

I know-- You and Rags on Rocks in MK are my only hope... And then CrazyK in MGM on the 24th night..... And karibritt of course at 50's our first night... I'm SO excited about all of those!!!! And I wish I could make a group meet but guess our schedules just don't allow.... Yall will have to take a picture for me... And at least I'll have a picture of those of you that I do see!

Don't forget me...Hopefully we will see each other at Pop! Everytime I get on this board youngest DD wants to see Courtney & Maddie...I want to tell her that we might actually meet you in June but that would ruin the surprise!!

You are so right LizA!!! I have you written on my agenda too... I'm going to look for you at the bus stops! And you'll have to look for my decorated door!

Wouldn't that be fun??!!! See each other bright and early; excited for a fun day in the parks????
