My daughter's last day of school is June 21 and we leave June 22. It's getting closer... tomorrow is May! :cool1:

God, I would love to lose some weight before the trip. I've actually lost about 15 pounds over the past couple months, but I have much more to go. And all the heat, humidity and walking is going to kick my you-know-what!

Lucky duck! Have a great time! Where are you staying?

My sister and her husband bought DVC this year... it is their first trip as DVC members and they invited me to go :yay: :woohoo: :yay: we will be staying at Saratoga Springs....

Oooh, I'll be anxious to hear how you like it, since we're spending 5 nights there in June! I've never wanted to stay there. I guess the theme just isn't appealing to me, being from upstate NY and all. But it was so cheap to stay there renting DVC points that I just went for it. Sooo..... I'll need details!

Your both going to love it at SSR. It's my home resort & we spent a week their last May. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have.

I have to say, the pictures I've seen make it look beautiful! What do you think is the best section to request? We will have a car, so it doesn't necessarily have to be near the main building. Oh, and is there a boat from SSR to Downtown Disney?

We didn't have a car & when I checked in they had us booked in Paddocks which is across the walking bridge. I asked & received Springs section. It's very close to the carriage house & pool. If I had a car, I would request either Congress Park for the DTD view or Grandstand (newest section). I've looked at photos of Grandstand and love the new pool and it's still close to the main building.

They do have a ferry to DTD but during the day (11-4) it only runs every hour. At night it's every 1/2 hour. We took the bus to DTD & ferry back. It really depends on what section you end up in because from Congress Park or Grandstand it's faster to walk.

Here' a map to help you get a visual of the building sections. Its a couple of posts down on the first page:

I have a ton of pictures that I took. I'll try & find them on the DVC board.

Someone just posted their view from Congress Park at SSR on the Resort Room View thread. That view is very nice of DTD.

Well it seems a year of my life on the DIS is missing. All my subscribed threads are gone from 2006.

Thanks for the info! I think I'll request either Congress Park or The Grandstand. The picture of the horse sprayer thingies (I'm sure they have an actual name, but :confused3 ) looks like so much fun!

For those with kids in school, or those still in school.. WHen do you they get out? How far after that are you leaving on your trip to Disney?

I suppose I could look at the first page, but that would just take too long ;)

Our kids get done June 15th(Friday), and we are leaving June 16th. IThe time is approaching too quickly. The only thing I Wanted to accomplish, was to lose a little bit of weight. Ok, would of liked to lose A LOT of weight.
I am a WW drop out..have gone back and forth over a 10 yr period too many times to count. I AM JOINING again this Saturday. Ok, there I said it out loud...now I am accountable for it. Ive been "going to join" since Feb...

Dana graduates 8th grade on June 8th... last day of school for the rest of the school is June 15th.. I only work Mondays and Tuesdays, so I'm not sure exactly what I will be doing - most likely I will be in that week cleaning up and packing some things. My nephew graduates 8th grade on June 15th, then we leave on June 21st.

My problem is, in between now and then, I have a MASSIVE amount of things going on! Dana has one more afternoon performance of "Annie", she was asked to be a model in the fashion show that is supporting the "Assisted Living" Home in town, I am in charge of "May Crowning" for the parish, which includes Dana's class having a major role, the 8th grade has a day trip to Rocking Horse Ranch, then two days later we as a family go back to Rocking Horse Ranch for Memorial Day Weekend, and the 8th grade has a parent/student dinner dance, that I am helping coordinate. And Dana has finals... It is NEVER ENDING!!! :yay:

Instead of having a graduation party, we decided to have a dinner party out with just my family, a friend or two, and the priests and principal. But, even THAT takes planning!!! - oh yes - and the pool is scheduled to be opened on May 16, but I need to make sure the landscaping guys get their work done BEFORE that. (need new dirt and seed done in part of the yard - but don't want flying top soil in the clean pool!!!) :cool2:

Good luck with the WW... I wish you much success. I wanted to lose 10 pounds by the summer. oh well....

What do you mean by that? They have simply disappeared?

Yes there completely gone. Anything that I posted to in 2006. I can go back to 2003-05 then it skips to 2007. I've never gone back so this is the first time I noticed it.

The whole board went screwy when they switched servers. That's probably when I lost it.

Well I thought I would go to photobucket & load them again but I forgot they deleted my pics (remember the copywrite issue)

I have them on my hard drive. I'll reload them tonight if you want to take a look at them.

Wow, SingingMom, it sounds like you're going to be BUSY! That's good, though - it'll make the countdown to Disney go faster! :thumbsup2

I want to see if this works

Well I almost got it LOL.. This was my youngest on our cruise Last August, enjoying chocolate cake LOL
Absolutely adorable! I love those kinds of pictures.

Now here's how to post the pic w/o a link. Obviously you copied it from Photobucket. When you go to put it in your post, just hit "Ctrl V" and it will automatically put the link in your post. When you submit the post, the picture will show up for all to see!!! Try it out!

If you go back to edit that post, you can simply put:

after the link.

That should convert it for us to see...
