I think that makes more sense -- otherwise the two categories may just overlap...you can add another category to replace the Non-Computer Effects if you want.;)

Will do.

Here is the more horizontal DIScademy gfx. I like the bigger one better as a graphic, but this one will fit better I think.

OK... Here is what I have for categories... we can add or delete
If there is a name beside it... I've suggested someone for the nominator... but you can opt out if you want. If it says Anyone? beside it, then you may volunteer. Once we have a volunteer for every category, we'll make a solid list, so people can PM suggestions.

Best Actor (can be male or female) HauntedMansionFan

Best Supporting Actor (again, male or female or pet) DNSY4ever

Best Use of Actual Disney Attractions Fleagle

Outstanding Achievement in Vocal Presentation (may include speed talkers, nervous, etc) HauntedMansionFan

The Sawyer E. Gordon Award for Technical... um... Achievement Or Not. Marshay

Best Nickname Generated (may include Top 20... cut out guy, etc) DISGeeks

Outstanding Achievement In Costuming DSNY4ever

The Adventurosity Award Justin

Best Use of Personal Disney Stuff totheSea

Best Foreign Language Film (may include unintelligible English) Dr. Hans?

Best Foreign Substance Film (What were they smoking?) LuvsTink?

Special Chairman's Awards Fleagle

Just quoting from earlier to give the most current list

If you want to help anyone listed with their categories, send them a PM with suggestions. Category leaders, you might even form committees if you've got some interested and helpful folks.

We want everyone involved!!! Post your suggestions and comments while we develop the nominees between now and Thursday. In case anyone is wondering, the qualifications for being an "official member of the DIScademy" are to, um.. you know, declare yourself one!

I wash thinking of wearing blue jeans, cowboy boots, a t-shirt with the sleeves removed and a business in front/party in back hairstyle for the awards, what do you guys think?

:rotfl: Wow, Kenny! Do you think folks will recognize you without the Pirate "get-up"?

Another of the Top 20, as posted on the LA Times blog:

"I was lucky to be the top 20 also. The Autopia car body was purchased from Phil Sears about six years ago. I built the car under it. Another view at YouTube under Wotruba Autopia."

I actually really liked that one when I saw it! I even sent the link to Doc's wife when I saw it so she could check it out too.

Boy, I've been gone one day and look what's happened. Disacademy Awards. Wow!

Can I be in for the voting even if I'm not in for the nominating? It looks like all categories are taken.

For those of us who've never been to the 'Land, please explain Autopia...is that a car from the park? The World has a similar ride but not the same name.

Thx

I'm open for any and all suggestions...

Just makes me even prouder to be from your home state! ;)

And, if you're wearing your boots, then I'm wearing mine!

Yes!!! The people listed are just so I don't have to get all the nominations myself. Feel free to send them suggestions for nominations, and then once the nominations get posted, we'll all discuss!

Autopia is a go cart type attraction at the California SPONSOR park. The car the gentleman was driving was the 1967 Autopia Cars designed by SPONSOR Legend Bob Gurr. The cars at this park now resemble the little cars you could buy at Chevron because they are the sponsor for the attraction, this design came in 1999.

The Florida SPONSOR park is called Tomorrowland Indy Speedway

This park still uses the Bob Gurr design.
