You know, if they are weighting someone's video editing skills and access to special effects, I guess they should have put that in the rules/expectations. "Video Editing Skills required" or something like that. Because if they are weighting it that way, that's really disappointing.

Frankly, I would rather they look at the person and what they said, both in the video and the written application, rather than what they did electronically to jazz up their video.

We all don't have access to that type of stuff. That's what Imagineers are for, right?!?

I totally agree - if they are looking for people who can put animation in the video - and there were at least 20 that did, then I am out and had no chance at all.

On the good news side though - he is not what I would call a 'skinny' man. That being said - it looks like weight not be a consideration for the position as CMO, and for me that is good news!

So lets all try to be positive. I too find it hard to believe that at least 1 person here would not be in the top 20! I have seen all of the videos, and I do mean ALL of the videos. lol

I know. I have zero idea how to edit a video or do special effects, so it was just me talking into a camera (over and over again until I got what I wanted to say in the allotted time and without any screw-ups) and attempting to make up for my lack of skills by being slightly original in my "script" and props. I'd like to see at least one video in the top 20 without any obvious editing and/or special effects. Just makes me feel even more hopeless.

I just don't post all that much... with that being said, I just got the call!!!!!!! I'm in the Top 20... This is going to make my DW trip (30 days and counting) so much better....WooooHooooo!!!!

As someone predicted, this contest is dragging all the lurkers out of the woodwork. But I did want to chime in to encourage everyone to keep dreaming as you never know when pixie dust will appear. I've been following this thread since the beginning and today been refreshing like mad after hearing on the iTM board that someone had already received their call - I had given up hope when I didn't get a call or email. Then 2 mins ago I got a call show up on my caller-id from Centra Marketing...low and behold it was the folks running the Dream CMO competition and a wonderful woman let me know that they would be emailing my documents to get notarized as one of the 20. WOO HOO!

Don't give up hope yet, my essays and videos were all done at the last minute - in fact my essay answers I was regretting not having written more as I wrote no more than 4-5 sentences for each question. And my video I edited using iMovie using its only its really basic tools. In fact the more I watched the other entries I gave up more hope because my video really didn't fit into the "traditional" resume type video - I barely even talk about myself. (Not to mention there were some REALLY faboo videos posted) I just set out to have fun, and more importantly I think dream for a little bit about how much fun it might be to work for the mouse. And I hope that's one of the things everyone who entered will get out of entering - the wonderment and dreams of "what if..." which honestly I have to admit has been really fun...
