DISer chapter of NKOTB anonymous, part 3... still goin' strong!

Jordan looked great and I was next to the stage but I had an awful time. Getting there was a pain because we had to take the train in and there was a gas leak that delayed the train for 2 hours. An hour ride took 3 hours. Then my sister had too much to drink and acted like an idiot & got angry with me and said I ruined her night and proceeded to curse at me & tell me off for the rest of the night. By the last couple songs (in a set list that was all of 45 minutes maybe), I wasn't even looking at Jordan. I was texting Kris saying I couldn't wait to leave. She will NOT be coming with me to NKOTBSB.

UGH! That sucks!! At the Baltimore show, I was texting Jay saying I couldn't wait for the show to be over b/c I was soooo sick! But I didn't want to make my friend miss the show, so I stuck it out and just ran to the bathroom every 10 mins. Never, EVER, in my life would I have imagined I'd wish for a NKOTB show to END!

Oh....AND I realized this morning that I really missed the songs off "The Block" It seems like they did mostly old stuff. With BSB there it cuts into the time, obviously. With that said, I did like what I saw of BSB, I was sort of a closet fan. LOL Had the CD, would never have gone to a concert though. At our show, Nick came out into the crowd about 4 feet from me but I didnt get a picture b/c my camera decided to have heart attack or something. LOL

So I gotta say....the Today Show did nothing for me. I just cannot get into BSB. I hate to think NKOTB will be 40 minutes from me and not going. (Especially after all the driving road trips I've done to see them.) On the other hand, I hate to think of shelling out $100-150 for a seat to a concert I only want to see half of. :confused3 Ugh.

This is exactly why I want to sell my tickets. Buyer's remorse.

Karen, I replied to your fb message with this, but thought I'd share my response here as well to get my opinion out on here:

You know, somehow I've learned to deal with it. I figure as long as they're along for the ride, I'm better off trying to "embrace" them rather than hate them. So, I have been very open minded about their performances and I read their notes on the new CD/dvd. I will never "love" them or be a "fan", don't get me wrong, I'm just trying to make the most of it because I know I want to go to the show and I want to have a good time. I have actually grown to really like the DTOTL song! I can completely understand your dilemma though. Maybe you should try to look at it from a different perspective. Don't feel like you have to be a "fan" of them, but look at it as they are "trainees" that the nkotb are "helping" :rotfl: LOL! Ah, I do wish it was ONLY nkotb at the show, but it's not, so I'm just telling myself to "deal and make the best of it."

I may regret buying the ticket, but I'm hoping by "preparing" myself I won't!

Hi Ladies! Ok so, I've totally never posted here...not sure why. :confused3 I'm pretty quiet I guess...but I love NKOTB!

I went to the show last night at Mohegan Sun. I just had to say, I was unsure about the whole NKOTBSB thing, and had thought about selling the tickets. Well, I am so glad I did not. I had more fun at this show than I ever would have expected. Maybe it was the amazing seats (ouch on the price), but I felt like the energy onstage was really positive, really refreshing. I'm not a big BSB "fan"...I knew the songs from the radio, and have felt kind of indifferent about them in the past. Well, I was completely entertained by them as well as, of course, NKOTB.

Thanks for the welcome! I feel like Karen does need to go. ;)

Here's the thing... like I said, I've not been a BSB fan, really but.....

Nick Carter was dead sexy last night, not at all how I remembered him in his younger years.

AMEN on Nick Carter!!! LOL I can honestly say that I like the BSB parts just as much as the NKOTB parts and knew every song they sang. HOWEVER, I need to put it out there that I have ALWAYS had strange musical tastes and really liked them back in the day, even though I was over the "target" age. LOL Let's put it this way -- I like Justin Bieber now. :) Does that explain anything? :rotfl:

LOL We are from the same make, I think. **

If I'm being completely honest, I was a much bigger NSYNC fan back in the day. To the point of maybe flying around the eastern US to see them on tour, several times. :rolleyes1

I do have a new found appreciation for BSB now, though...and let's face it, Nick is kind of nasty and I love it! :woohoo:

** I also have a crazy taste in music...from pop to metal. :)

Welcome DaisyLynn!

I have two shows coming up. One here in SA and one in MSP. I am really getting excited for three reasons: 1. I don't get out enough with friends and need to get better about taking time for myself. Doing that by going to the concerts. Who can't use a GNO? And because I rarely do it I figure the cost is several months worth of nights out that I didn't take! 2. It's NKOTB. I love them and who knows how long they will tour and do shows. We all thought it would be over by now, I am going to enjoy the ride however I can. 3. I have been to collab shows before. I am a HUGE Billy Joel fan and went to see him and Elton John twice even though I don't really get into Elton. I look at the NKOTBSB tour the same way. I get what I love and can experience something new at the same time. Plus, I love nostalgia and even though I am not a "fan" of BSB I know the singles and will enjoy seeing them performed live.

There's my two cents. Those on the fence need to do what is best for them. For myself I choose to go into it positively and have fun!

I will happily retweet ticket for sale messages, but I don't have many NK fan followers!

Oh! Another positive for BSB... I can wear cute shoes that might hurt my feet because I can sit down during BSB songs! ;)

Oh, also - I bought Jordan's new album and I think it's good! :thumbsup2 I'm not good at reviews, but I'll just say that so far I'm able to listen to it all the way through and not skip anything (though I do cringe a bit for one song - O-Face).

Thanks for the welcome! I was excited for the same reasons you are, and came out pleasantly surprised. I had a lot more fun that I expected to. I knew it would be fun, but I didn't know I'd be sad about it being over! But, I'm going to see them at Fenway next weekend, so it's not completely over for me yet.

The tickets are already paid for but when I think about shelling out more money for gas, a hotel room, food, and drinks (and believe me Atlantic City on a Friday night is NOT CHEAP)....it just doesn't seem worth it to me. I'm not crazy excited like I was when this all started. The last couple of concerts were meh for me with the exception of Radio City. To me, nothing is going to top the Full Service tour. I've seen them a LOT since they reunited and it was fun at first but now I just feel a little over it.

I know exactly how you feel. I think part of it for me is that they haven't done a new album yet....and they have been back for awhile now. LOL So It's not all NEW and EXCITING after so many years of NOTHING!

Whenever my mom gives me a hard time I tell her that if it was The Monkees on a comeback, she'd be ALL over it. HAHAHAHA

And I just noticed my siggy...the countdown is a little old ya think? LOL

I like most of that song, but I wish the title was something else! :rotfl2:The one I really don't care for is Stingy, "Like cake and ice cream"... :confused3

::yes:: I think if they were promoting a new album, I'd be more excited. I would get to see some new material. But no, instead I"ll get to listen to a terrible (I'm sorry but it is) mash up of Everybody and Hangin Tough. The songs are good on their own but together? Meh.

The thing is I don't feel like I'm being "negative" about it because I choose not to go. It's just for me the value for the amount of money to be spent is not there because of the set up. They've talked a lot about new music so I don't fear they'll go away anytime soon. And if they do I have a lot of great memories from the time I had.

For me nothing will top the CasiNO Tour. Those were the 2 best shows I've seen from them and I had the most fun at. I'm where you are I think. No one will top NKOTB for me. Ever. But at the same time I don't feel like I need to like everything they do for the fear of them leaving again. I'm not a BSB fan. I don't know/like their songs. I don't have to go simply because NKOTB is involved.

Jordan really has a song called O-face? :lmao: That's...out there.:rolleyes1
