Thanks Shelby!

And what the heck is going on ladies? We are on page 4???????????

I'm getting new tires on my car today, so I dropped it off at 7:45am. About an hour later they call me to tell me my check engine light is on...my response was, "Yes, I know it is always on and always has been" The guy says (and not all that nice either) "Well it needs to be checked out and fixed because your car is due for inspection in March and it won't pass, so you have to fix it." I said "Thank you, I already have plans for it to be looked at." Then he says "You also need to change your oil, it's a low and black as black!" Again, not really very nice tone here. I said "Not that it matters, but I already have that set up for Saturday."

Now I know they are doing their "Courtesy" checks or whatever and that's fine, but the way the guy said it made me want to slap him. I'm not a stupid girl who doesn't know anything about cars you butthead! My car is a 1999 Ford Contour, which I love by the way. That check engine light has been on and off for the entire 4 years I've had the dang thing. I get it checked and it's fine. As far as the oil, it's not black as black can be, I just checked it on Saturday. It's dark and in need of a change, yes. It's low because I have a leak, the oil pan is patched and has been since I bought the car, my dad will fix that Saturday when he changes the oil.

I'm just annoyed that the guy was pushy sounding and acting like I'm stupid or somethimg. Grrrrr!

I hate bringing my car to anyone to be fixed for anything, just because of people like that. They try to take advantage of those that don't have their "knowledge" and it ticks me off. I have my husband bring my car anywhere if it needs anything.

When I go back to get my car, I can promise you I will let them know I'm not a stupid girl. I know just enough about cars to be a little dangerous. LMAO

Erin I don't think it's so much they assume you know nothing because you're a woman; they just try to push as much as they can on people. I work with a bunch of mechanics and the service writers are CONSTANTLY doing this to people, men or women. They even try to do it to employees when we bring in our cars for routine things like oil changes. The mechanics work based on commission here and try to "upsell" so to speak. They told my co-worker he needed new shocks when he just had them done! Maybe it's the same system where you took your car. It's a bunch of bull.

I hate that routine as well, they think if you're female they can take advantage of you. It's ridiculous. I remember going car shopping and knowing more about my van then the dealer did. I worked in insurance for over 10 years, most of that was car insurance.

So, last night DH and I ordered new cameras! His has 14.7 MP! HOLY COW!!! He got an underwater casing for it too so he can take it diving.

Mine has 10MP and 5X ZOOM - can't wait to use that baby at the NKOTB concert!!! WOOO HOOOO!!! Or maybe I should bring my hubby's then I could make poster sized prints! LOL

So, I'm doing the clean for the cleaning lady thing today. Plus, getting things organized for the trip. I've got almost all of Becca's stuff packed, Noah's a little trickier, he doesn't have as much in the way of clothes. :upsidedow

Laundry is almost all done so I am making progress!!!

I still have to clean out the fridge though, not my favorite thing in the world!:sad2:

Hope you all are having a wonderful day!!

Ok ladies this is totally :offtopic:

I am hosting my annual Crop for Autism (9 hours of scrapbooking fun). I am just having a little trouble picking what will be for dinner. Last year we did it from 10am-5pm so we just did Subway boxed lunches as the meal. But this year we will be having it from 1PM-10PM so I am not sure if a sandwich is still ok to serve. I still have time to decide since it isnt until the end of April.

Any suggestion would be great- since I need to start getting prices and orders in line for this event.

TIA
Angela

That sounds like SO much fun!! How many people?? I was just going to suggest pizza! But I think sandwiches would still be okay. What about sub (hoagie) trays?

Last year we had 30 people. But we did it on a short notice last year so I am hoping for 50 this year. I thought about pizza, but do you really want oily pizza by your pictures and scrapbooks? Or do I order pizza and just reserve a few tables for food only? I thought about just doing a few Chick-fil-a Trays and sandwich trays too? I am so confused. The Subway boxed lunch thing is so good (sandwich, chips, cookie, mint, and condiments all in a box). It was the lazy way out last year since we did it on such a short notice.

Angela, I would go with Subway. It is filling enough for dinner and not messy. What a great event... I wish I lived closer!

Ok I just needed someone else to say it was "OK" to have sandwiches for dinner. LOL

We are lucky enough to have it at school. My DS(with Autism) Teacher is GREAT! I love her, she helps me do it and it is a lot of fun. I give everyone a tshirt (since I use the same company that we order all my DH's little league football team's stuff- they cut me a really good deal). I am thinking about adding a Koozie for their can drinks this year- we will see how much they are.

If you only lived in Texas you could come join in the fun for a good cause. ;)

Just think, next year I WILL live in Texas!

That is so exciting- I am sure you are counting down the days. My husband keeps trying to talk me into moving to Montana (I know random) but I just cant leave TEXAS. I am a Texas girl all the way, And my sister would not move with us so that is a deal breaker, she is only 21 and we are VERY close.

Montana is random, LOL! Beautiful, though! I am definitely ready for Texas winters compared to Iowa winter!

I definitely think the sandwiches are the way to go. If all of that comes in one box...heck yeah!!!! ;)

I am sure Montana is beautiful. But for neither one of us to have visited there I think it is REALLY random to want to move there. Everytime I say anything negative about our neighborhood or anything- DH is quick to say "we could be living in Montana right now". Weirdo, but I love him.
