My parents are at my sister's in Pensacola. Not the greatest weather, but at least they are out of harm's way (they live in Slidell).
My in-laws, that is a different story. They are being stubborn and are still at home in Mandeville (that is directly north of New Orleans across Lake Ponchartrain). The winds are what worry me because they are surrounded by towering pine trees. One hit their house in Katrina and took out their fireplace from the outside. No water last time though, even though they are about one mile from the lake.
I'm praying they don't get hurt but am hoping they get the be-jesum scared out of them or the power go out and they left to wonder what's going on while they sweat their "hum-hums" off. They need to learn not to stay behind when they are under a mandatory evacuation, especially when they had reservations at a hotel in Panama City and could have come to Houston!
As far as the Today Show news, DANG! I was hoping the boys would be on tomorrow (I even had the DVR ready)! Then again, my brother-in-law is still in NOLA working behind the camera for NBC, so maybe we'll get to see some of his work.
