I'm a first time cruiser, what is the benefit to disembark early. We live in Tampa heading straight home, and are parking at port. Should we rush to get off or should we stay as long as they will let us?

The benefit is that you get home sooner. There's really not a big difference between the earliest debarking time and the time they will "force" you to debark. You really can't stay on board much later than 9:00 am.

Unless you have a flight to catch or a very long drive, no benefit whatsoever to rush off the ship!

Are you on the the second dining? Congratulations.... you get to sleep in and get the later breakfast. Why be in a rush to abandon ship and miss the last meal that you paid for?

The only advantage I can think of first dibs in the luggage hall to ensure someone hasn't picked up your black Samsonite by mistake.
