I'm sorry to see that some of you aren't going to make it in October, I was looking forward to meeting some of you before I join you for the Ladies trip in Feb. My family and I had a trip booked in October before I knew you were meeting up so we leave just as most of you are getting there. We'll be at Hojo's Oct.18-24

Would it be possible for my son and I to join you for the Happiest Haunts tour? Any ideas on price and if there's an age limit?

I have to ask what exactly Magicale is?

Hi Angie The Happiest Haunts Tour is Disney from the villain's point of view - very fun! I'm not sure what the age limit is, but you do go on Tower of Terror, Big Thunder, etc. and there is quite a bit of walking. I think the suggestion is maybe 12 years old?? It's not really scary though - my son really enjoyed it last year! If you want to come, I'm sure you would have a blast!!

Magicale is a very yummy sparkling red wine It is SOOOO good. My roomie, Cheryl (have I mentioned you are the BEST????) brought be a couple of bottles to Vegas so I could bring them home with me. You can only buy them from Disney (and for some reason, a wine shop in Hawaii ).

You'll still get to meet some of us We're staying at Hojo Oct 22-25. Are you going to the Trick or Treat Party??

Isn't Rosa Rogale the same as Magicale. I think the same company bottles them. Cheryl knows. Anyways, you might be able to find that easier.

I hadn't heard that! So BTMR and Space! Makes me wish I wasn't a ride weenie.

All of us ride weenies need to unite, and ask for a Halloween layover of say....Pinocchio? Casey? Dumbo?

It does make me wonder though, I mean they have special Halloween fireworks, HMH, Space layover, and now BTMR layover.....um, why is the Halloween party at DCA???

I can't wait to see Candy Corn Acres though. The pictures just look too cute!

Because they need to get people into DCA. I believe another reason is because there would be mutiny if they shut DL early for a special party. Unlike WDW that does it, I don't think the So Cal folks would like this too much. But actually I'm glad. Especially around Christmas time. DL stays open late everynight,and you get to see everything at DL for just the plain old admission, that you would have to buy a special ticket to see at WDW. In 2005, we took our family to WDW for Christmas, and I was really dissapointed that we didn't get to see the special fireworks or Christmas parade. We had 10 people, and I couldn't justify spending another $420.00 for it.

Similar but not quite exactly the same. Magicale is a tad bit sweeter and "richer" if that makes sense. But Rosa is my go-to substitute (always have a bottle in the fridge!) I've even found Rosa at Costco!

Hey Mel!! Rosa is similar, same grape, but different vineyard, etc. I even tried to get Rosa Regale here (I saw it online in Newfoundland (of all places) and Manitoba), sent in a special request, but they said they couldn't do it......... This is why I need to take frequent trips - pick up the good stuff (okay, that and the Coach outlet in Vegas ). I actually have never tried Rosa Regale, can you believe it? We even had some thanks to my roomie in Vegas (hey, Cheryl) and I think Beth brought some too - but I never had a sip. Next time!


Angie - Jesse is 13 (a little bit older than yours;-), so he was 12 when he did the tour the first time. He was the youngest one there - it was all adults except him on our tour.

Hey all! The time is quickly approaching for us to make our PS! It's time for everyone to start thinking about the meals and make any changes they would like. Anyone want to volunteer to call and make the PSing's?

I do want to share my thoughts about the BBQ now. Now that it's no longer a Character meal, and Beth is not attending, is it something everyone still wants to do? Honestly, the menu seems really limited to me for the price. I will do what everyone else wants to do, but wonder if our money and time wouldn't be better spent somewhere else? Anyone have any thoughts on this? Do we need two sit down meals that day-Goofy's for late breakfast and somewhere for dinner? Anyone have a suggestion, or should we just leave it the way it is?

I'm so excited to be going!

Mel, I am so excited to hear that BTMRR is also getting a halloween layover. BTMRR late at night is always a favorite and it will be even cooler now!

Tracey, I would love to borrow the Minnie Mouse costume... it is so sweet of you to offer. I will, however, pass on the Mickey as Ty is just now going into size 24 months and a few 2Ts. Also, as Me Mouse (his pronunication) is his current favorite character along with Duh Duck, I have a feeling that we will get quite a bit of use out of whatever costume I purchase.

Heather, if you need me to make any PS, just let me know. I have Disney Dining programmed into my cell due to the fact that it feels like I call them so often!

Cheryl and Theresa, I am totally up for a quick trip over to the Vineyard for a glass (or bottle) or two of Magicale. As you have said, Rosa is a nice substitute, but there is nothing like the real thing! Also, did Theresa say that Cheryl actually got to take real Magicale off of Disney property? If so, how did you do it???

Dave and I need to talk it through still, but we have reservations at the Hojo from Thursday-Sunday. I am not sure what time we are arriving or leaving yet, but I will push for taking Thursday off and trying to hit the parks by mid-day. Then on Sunday we usually leave around 12-1ish, so I need to revisit page 1 to see if I can make WCT for lunch.

Finally, I am so sad that Beth, Wendy and Deb won't be there, but you will be in spirit! Beth, I am totally bringing you home a birthday cupcake, or apple or whatever Disney treat your heart desires It will be so sad not to have the three of you there, but I am looking forward to seeing you all again for Turkey Day!

You can buy the bottles of Magicale at the restaurants that serve it, but you basically have to leave right after because you can't be toting those around DL all day..... They are $45 per bottle. I have two of them at home I just can't bring myself to open them up until I am positive I can replace them................

The Coach outlet I was talking about was in Vegas (hey!!). We got some good deals on cute stuff You can buy the bottles and take them with you (woo hoo!). Just pack them very carefully when you're flying. I bring extra large Ziplock baggies and wrap them in towels in the center of my suitcase
