Not quite yet, but the beer is home and waiting for me. I'm packing it up shortly. Have a good weekend LASTers!

On the road again. :drive: Hope this is the last of the trips for a long time.

Had bacon this morning.

Carry on.

Very nice, Darcy! :thumbsup2

We have about 4 1/2" of snow so far and it's still coming down. Makes today a day of baking Christmas cookies, decorating the house for the holidays and watching Christmas videos.

PIO how do you celebrate Christmas in the heat?

By tossing an extra shrimp on the barbie.

Randall....My mum hosts Christmas Eve dinner. About 20 adults, 8 teens and 2 kids. We end up with curries and rice and noodles for dinner.

I have a quiet celebration on Christmas lunch. Just us and my parents come over. Turkey and trimmings; and salmon for the non-meat eater. If it's hot, we might head to the beach for a walk.

Boxing Day is a big day in Melbourne. Aside from the sales, it's when they release a whole bunch of movies. People flock to the theatres. Also, the Boxing Day test (cricket) match starts. I used to head to the Melbourne Cricket Ground; along with 70,000 people for the first day. I suspect the crowd is going to be over 90,000 this year because England is the other team playing (traditional rivals). And it's also the start of the Sydney to Hobart yacht race. They telecast the start on TV and it's a great image to see all those sails heading out the Sydney Harbour.

There are also heaps of outdoor things to go see. Lots to do outdoors and in our parks/gardens!

Yes. One of these years, I'm going to ditch the extended family and go spend Christmas and New Year's in Sydney. DH and I have always talked about it. The problem is breaking the news to my parents.

We stopped going to DW's parents for Christmas Eve, she didn't enjoy the guilt trips. We just enjoy what we do better with our family.

We could walk on the beach as well, but it would be around a frozen pond and that doesn't have the same appeal as say the.....ocean in 80 degree weather :thumbsup2

Thank you, sound fun and better than shoveling snow. :lmao:

Good for you David, the Holidays shouldn't be about fighting old battles. Being older we don't have anywhere we need to be but home, for the kids and grandkids, and they like coming here. :)

It isn't a guilt trip with my parents.....well; not quite a guilt trip. :lmao:

My parents really like having everyone around for Christmas eve. And it is a lot of fun with the teenage nephews and nieces. They still enjoy the Christmas spirit. Besides, the food is great.

We do enjoy being with the family; and it is the one time of year where our standard dysfunction gets forgotten for a little bit.

The frozen pond? It's all yours. Although, I'd love to see another white christmas one of these year.
