Discovery Cove - Visitor Discount Loophole?

Hi there, my partner and I are hoping to book up tickets for Discovery Cove in 2010 and after coming across and trying the 'Return' discount code, I realised that 1) it's still working, and 2) It's only for US Residents.

Now since we'll be coming from the UK, we don't fit into this category, however I was wondering whether there was any way of getting around this? or if there's any discounts for 'florida visitors'? We'll probably still be booking up regardless, but just thought if you don't ask, you don't get, and $100 is a substantial saving. Also, I don't know whether it makes a difference, however we will be staying in a villa owned by a family friend.

Thanks for any help you may be able to provide

I would like to know this too.... we visited DC this year (we are from The Netherlands) and are thinking about going back this year, the kids loved it and would like to show their grandparents (who are coming along in 2010)... Since it is quite a lot of money I was thinking about skipping this time unless I find a good offer.... I hope someone here will post it!

I strongly suggest that you email a query to Discovery Cove about what ID you need to show on check in if you've used a discount code based on residency.

Ideally, email it from an email address different from your main address (the one you book from) so you have some anonymity (I'm paranoid that way... it probably doesn't make one bit of difference)

The reason I think you should ask... I've booked Seaworld twice with an offer limited to Canadian residents and it specifically said "proof of residence required on check in." Well, when it came time to go through the turnstiles, they laughed when we had our ID out to show them and waved us through without checking. The second time, we didn't try to show any proof of residence. Same thing... they didn't care at all.

Check in at Discovery Cove is a lot more personal than at Seaworld, but I'd be willing to bet that the people who do check in are equally unconcerned with what discount code you used to book.

Or is it one of those things where they won't let you book without a credit card with a US billing address? If that's the problem, there's usually no loopholes that I've been able to find. Tell me if you find one!

Northstar you might very well be right, but when we went to DC last summer, we had to show ID for each adult in our party. We didn't use any sort of residency discount, but we did need to show ID and also had to produce the AmEx card we used to book the discount we did receive. Just something to think about.
