Discovery Cove Ultimate Ticket

We are trying to book these tickets through Virgin Holidays, as they seem to be really cheap compared to everyone else (approx. £170) but the website isn't working and we can't get through on te phone... does anybody know if you can book these tickets without taking a Virgin holiday or are they only available to Virgin holiday customers?

Or does anybody know of another cheap place to get them from, as it's so hard to get from Virgin?

You can only book excursion / attraction tickets with Virgin Holidays if you're actual holiday is booked with them. Try the Discovery Cove website - they often have offers on for certain times of year.

This is what Virgin told me when looking for our Disney tickets so we booked direct with Disney .....HOWEVER, we have since phoned Virgin twice and booked the Discovery Cove Ultimate tickets with 5% discount and FF miles, and just before Christmas also booked Universal tickets with them with 5% discount and FF miles. We have no holiday or flights booked with them.

Also, you can book DC tickets without having to purchase a dolphin swim should you wish to go for the day but not swim with the dolphins (this is what we are doing in May). This means we only paid £140 net, for Ultimate non swim tickets in high season. We rang 0844 557 4008 but have also used 0844 557 5825.

The other added benefit is that you only have to pay a small deposit. Virgin used to be more expensive but as the £ has weakened Virgin prices seemed to have not changed as much as other retailers

Not so - I booked DC tickets 2 weeks ago and don't have a holiday booked with Virgin and they were the cheapest then, even beating DC direct because of the low exchange rate

Appoligies - I missed the ultimate part!

Just so others don't have to look it up:

Their prices are $224.77 (£156) for the normal including 14 days into Busch Gdns or Seaworld. Ultimate ticket is $304.57(£212). The only reason I am giving the dollar rate is that the £169/£229 is based on a rate of $1.33/£ and its gone up since then. (£156 and £212 is on todays rate of 1 GBP = 1.43862 USD)

I can also confirm that I booked the DC Ultimate package through Virgin without having a holiday booked with them, this was back in May 2007.

I found them to be much cheaper than other places I'd researched.

We had an awesome time too - we're back there next May too, this time through Thomas Cook Signature, can't wait!

Unfortunately you can only do it by phone They'll need every-one's full name & date of birth and preferred dates. They'll then confirm in writing a couple of weeks later. (I think Virgin only take 1 date, but when we booked with TCD they wanted alternative dates too-if I remember correctly).
