I'm planning a solo trip to Orlando in September, and am thinking about doing Discovery Cove. Has anyone ever gone by themselves? I'm not sure how fun it will be by myself, and for the $ don't know whether or not to plan this for another time.

Thanks in advance for any responses!

Tuff decision. I visit parks alone and actually enjoy it. I can go where I want, when I want.

If you were to visit DC alone, you'd still end up talking to people when you do the dolphin swim. It's just that you wouldn't be sharing the experience with people you know.
Then again, if you need a relaxing day all to yourself, then it would work. You could read a book on a lounge chair, and it's like being in the Keys.
Depends on who would come back with you on a future visit. If it's little rug rats, then I'd say go now and enjoy it. Because if you bring kids, you'll be chasing them around.
If you decide not to go, then visit SWF where you can pet a dolphin in the Key West area.

Thanks for the response Robvia,

I go to the Parks by myself always, and do other trips solo too (like NYC, San Francisco), so I don't have any issues doing things by myself.

I think I am leaning more towards doing DC than not, but I wanted to get opinions from others before I buy a ticket.

Thanks!

I don't see y not its very relaxing place so you will be able to chill a lot beter than us with kids dragging us everywhere:jester:

but I would ABSOLUTELY do it alone if that were the only option - it was fun and professionals take pictures so you don't even need a companion for that. Lunch was good and the whole day was fun - and come to think of it, I did do it pretty much alone except for the swim and lunch, because he was off snorkeling.

I did DC by myself about two years ago. It was great! I didn't have to worry about anyone else. I could snorkel as long as I wanted or feed the birds or just lay on the beach area.
In fact I'm planning on going again in the fall. It's just so relaxing.

I agree - you can have a fantastic time on your own.

When we went, once our dolphin swim was over, I spent the entire day snorkelling in the ray lagoon with one DD, whilst my DH and other two DD's weren't so keen on snorkelling and they just swam in the lazy river and relaxed on the sand. Apart from lunchtime, we didn't really meet up again until going home time.

The day was so magical and it passed by TOO quickly, it would be a wonderful day for you just to relax and do your own thing.

Go for it, you'll enjoy it!
