The Dolphin swim time is allocated upon arrival. Arrive early (about 1 hour before opening) for the greatest choice. We prefer an early swim, so that we can enjoy lunch properly afterwards.

DC shuts at 5.30pm.

All of the food and drinks at lunchtime are free. The only extra charges are for snacks/drinks (delicious smoothies) throughout the day (plus souvenirs of course).

The standard dolphin-swim package is about $250 (plus tax) per person.

even if you don't do the dolphin swim you still pay to get into discovery cove...it costs less than the dolphin swim, but is still very expensive...

we did the dolphin swim the first year discovery cove opened....actually the month it opened, so it was less expensive than now....i think for the 4 of us we paid $875, or thereabouts (3 dolphin swimmers and one who didn't do the dolphin swim).....plus we also bought some pictures when we were there, so that was extra....
it was very nice, but if your mastercard is drowning, you probably could let this one slip by...

Hmmmm. This is a tough one. We did love it when we went, but I wouldn't hurry back - to me it feels like we have done it now, and even with the dolphin swim, it is so 'organised', I feel it would just be exactly the same next time.

It is expensive, and I can understand why, but if you're not interested in the dolphin swim (and therefore maybe not swimming in the tropical pool with other fish??), it's a lot of money for lying on a fake beach or seeing some birds. Lunch is included, and it was good, but it's nothing amazing, just a buffet type thing.

Would your wife and daughter go, and you and your other daughter do something else that day?

We went in March and our day was ruined by the weather.

It was unusually cold and we were delayed by a thunderstorn also, by the time our little lad got in the water he was a bit fed up , and the water being cold, after 20 minutes he was freezing.

Personally we would not go again, I didn't feel the overall package was good value for money and we didn't even get anything to eat because our boy just wanted to go, having said that our experience was affected by the conditions.
I also agree with Kristie it did feel a bit organised, but could not compliment the staff enough, the head of our little group was really helpful and patient and they did everything to help us enjoy the experience.

I loved it, and I'm a cynical so and so. Snorkelling around the coral reef was great fun, even in January ;)

Expensive, but worth it :)

We just booked a swim ticket, including 14 days access to sea world and busch gardens for £150 each.

Good value if you can use the other park tickets for 3 or 4 days too.

Cheers

Craig
