Planning ahead my Sept 2015 trip to WDW & Discovery Cove, I called DC today to ask some questions, the customer care person told me that this is the lowest rate I will see ($229) and I should book ASAP.
Is that true?

Also if I do book now, which day is better Wednesday or Saturday?

Rates do typically go up each year so I would think if you buy this year you are getting the 2014 rate and it could go up if you wait til next year.

As for the day, DC limits the number of people allowed in the park and it is a low number like 1K or something like that....so I don't think it matters either way what day you pick. We went on a sold out day and it never felt crowded at all. There are many different sections of the park and you are quite spread out.

One suggestion....when it gets closer to your trip, call and book the private cabana (about 180.00) if you have the extra money. It was so worth it....you have a hut with ceiling fan, table, 4 chairs, 2 loungers, your own locker and fridge fully stocked. A snack basket fully stocked and a person assigned to your hut that will go get you anything you want. We loved it cause it afforded you your own space, the kids could play right in front of you on the sand or if they are older, in front of some of the cabanas is water and we could see them all the time. It was amazing!!!!

DC offered a special early booking rate at New Year's 2014. While summer was blacked out, I know September was included in the promotional rate. Unfortunately, no one knows if they will offer a similar special again this year for 2015.

As a general rule, prices for DC only get higher as time goes on, so booking early is almost always preferable. We booked our August 2014 tickets in October 2013, at $249 per person. By the time we travelled, rates for the same day (which was eventually a sell-out completely) had slowly inched up in small increments to $349 pp. $100 per person is alot when you mutiply that by a family of 4 or 5.

I would book now and then keep an eye out for promotions early in the year (sign up for their email notices via their website, and Like them on Facebook). Then, if your date decreases in price with one of those sales, call them. They can cancel your old booking and rebook at the new rate, refunding you the difference, as long as you are more than 30 days away from your travel date. We have done this before, and DC's customer service have been very friendly an accommodating.

Thank you both very much. I am going to book it now then, and I will keep my eye on the New Years special. That would be awesome. I do want to do the Elite but its so much money. I have to wait a while on that part.

I booked our 2015 date with the Elite package, I am excited and sick to my stomach because of the amount of money I just spend.

Glad you are booked! Have a great trip.

I just wanted to add my opinion on the best day of the week for anyone else looking to glean information from this thread. All the days inside DC look about the same because of the cap on the number of people, but the difference is in opportunity cost.

For example, I booked my DC day for a Saturday because I knew that that day would be much more crowded at the Magic Kingdom or other parks I would have attended that day.

Hope that makes sense!:goodvibes

Thank you, that is exactly what I did. I booked it for Saturday to avoid extra people at MK for the weekend!! I can not wait!

Its ok... it was the best part of my vacation. I will spend it again, the next time I go.

The one tip I would have is not to be afraid of changing the dates due to the upcoming weather forecast.

I booked 3 months in advance. I kept looking at the weather report and was able to change my date 3 days in advance. You get one chance to change your date once for free or it will be an additional charge each additional change.

I am lucky that I did. On our visit day, the sun was out and on my previously selected day it rained cats and dogs.

This is really good to know. Thank you

I was a little concerned about booking so far ahead (Sept coming from Australia) Particularly given we havn't got airfares booked. I could'nt find thier cancellation ploicy on the website. But they e-mailed me and noted that there is a full refund with 30 days notice!

After 12 years and 4 kids later my husband and I are getting an adult only vacation :) 4 nights 5 days. We are DVC owners so we have a beautiful villa reserved but are doing one day at discovery cove in May 2015 to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my graduation from graduate school.

We are looking to go Aug 8, 2015 and checking the prices of tickets they are already $339. We are booking now but will keep in mind the advice about looking for offers and making changes.
