Discover Disney/3 Day Play for 2016?

There is a new screen on the WDW website that has a Stormtrooper that says

"Florida Residents, Enjoy 4 days Ticket Special Offer"

But when you click on it, it just leads to the same old Florida Resident Tickets.

This screen was not there yesterday, so dare I think that there may in fact be something coming?

Thanks for posting this. I don't see it on my page. I tried calling, but they could not confirm or deny any special offers. They did tell me that there were the "new" Florida Select tickets at whatever price per day (The same price as usual). I guess if we look on the bright side, that may mean that there won't be a rate hike for regular Florida resident tickets for 2016.

I went to AAA yesterday. Woman showed me a screen for a soon to be released 3 and 4 day Florida resident discount that showed no prices yet. She took this to be there would be a Discover Disney type special that will be offered in the next few days.

Cool. Maybe there's hope yet

I just called Disney and a cast member confirmed they are not offering Discover Disney tickets this year. Wasn't sure they'd actually tell me, but they were very clear and straightforward about it.

Hi all, I too am in disbelief about the tickets. I have called everyday and asked the cast members if they would be offering the Discover Disney tickets this year like they have in previous years. I was told that they do not have any information about them, that I may go to their website and look at the ticket prices. I did call about 5 minutes ago and a cast member stated that they are only offering the normal Florida resident discounts this year. I repeatedly asked her if this means that there will be no Discover tickets this year and she said that "as far as she knows" they will not be. So irritated as this is information that would be helpful now!!

Just spoke with AAA. Their computer now says that Disney will not be offering the Discover Disney promotion this year :-(

That's disappointing.

I guess we should be lucky they have the $189 3 day pass with half of the year blocked out....

I know that without this special deal we would not have been able to go for more than a day back in 2010. I feel bad for those who will not get the opportunity to go now, if they were relying on this deal.

I saw a preview of the 2017 FL resident tickets - Full price, but Free Parking!

If this is the case, this may be our last trip to Disney. My family actually prefers Universal Studios, especially when it comes to staying on site, but we have 3 daughters so Disney seems like a good choice while they are young and like princesses.

It's getting ridiculous, they get rid of more good options every year. The big one was a few years ago when on the regular FL resident tickets they took away no expiration, put in blockout dates, got rid of a discount on 1 day and made it so you couldn't buy them past 4 days. And now they're getting rid of the main good option they still had for FL residents. They need FL residents more than they think they do, and I'd bet a lot will stop going instead of getting an annual pass

I totally agree. This was the only way that my family of four could afford to go. I checked the ticket page and added up the price it would be for the four of us with the park hopper option (2 adults and 2 children under 10) and the price is a couple hundred dollars more. Then factor in the horrible food, the price of a hotel/house rental and it seems we will be priced out. I guess this will be our last year visiting the "Magic" Kingdom. It appears other recreational activities will be in our future.

I think this is a mistake for Disney. Without our 2010 trip, using this deal, DW would have never seen the Disney magic as I saw it. That "bug" wouldn't be there for our family to have visited five times since. Maybe we still would have made the trip another year, maybe we would have never done it.

Long way of saying I feel bad that the loss of this deal will hurt some families, as well as possibly Disney one day.

I just got off of a chat with a cast member and he said they had not said if they are going to have the Discover Disney tickets this year. He asked me to keep checking. I pointed out that in years past they were announced by now. He said he knew that and his family members are asking him the same questions. I told him that for what it was worth to please tpass his info up the line because there are quite a few of us wanting to purchase these tickets. I for one will not be taking my family back this year if they do not offer these tickets. Such a shame they keep raising prices. Disney used to be so much more accessible to average Joe's. Sad.

I just got an email for fl resident passes 223 for 4 day 203 for 3 day good for 6 months from date of first use so it doesn't seem like the discovery ticket like in the past but thought it was weird they just emailed it to me like it was new. I too remember when it was $99 in 2008, it started our love of Disney as well. I also remember at that time there was hardly a wait for some rides and I could book a value at $50/ night. I guess times have changed.

It had been going longer than I realized. I think it probably brought in a lot more Floridians to the parks than usually

Hello. I actually called on Monday morning, about 7:15am to check on this and was told there will not be the Discover Disney promo. She said just the regular Florida resident promo would be in place. I expressed my anger, frustration and sadness because our family of 4 wouldn't be able to afford to go if this promo wasn't in place. The rep told me to write an email to Disney and they would respond. I emailed at 7:58am on Monday and have yet to hear back from them. She did mention that if enough people complain they'll bring it back. She gave me an example of the photo pass and how Disney raised the rates and so many people complained so they lowered it back down. So, please, take 5 minutes and send them an email. The more emails we send, the better chances we have of getting this promotion back.

Here is the email.

I will write an email, but I have extreme skepticism that they lowered the price of the photo pass due to complaints....I think that may have been more due to the fact that they included it in the price of the AP's, and lower demand.....
