Here's the best deal I can figure out using this, not using the double cash back.
Purchase $475 visa gift cards at Walgreens for $479.95 at purchase.
* 11% Cash Back Earned $52.79
Net Out of pocket at this point. $427.14
Use the visa gift card at Kroger to purchase $475 in target gift cards earning 4X fuel points. This should net you 1 $1 off fill up and 1 $0.90 fill up.
Assuming you were going to purchase gas anyway and can max out the 35 gallons on each fill up, you would save $66.50. I know most people, myself included don't have 35 gallon tanks, but I could easily get 24 gallons if I filled up a couple gas cans I have. Technically it is per car, but if I could fill up mine and my wifes cars at the same time I could do the 35 gallons.
So theoretically, if I can save the $66.50, I have an out of pocket of $360.64.
Turn the Target gift cards into $500 disney gift cards via target using red card as default.
360.64/500.00 = .72128. So that is paying 72% of face value or 28% off.
***If you have a new discover card and can get the double cash back bonus, then when you get the additional $52.79 after your first year, you would have net out of pocket of $307.85. So same math is 61.5% of face value or a 38.5% savings.
