I thought that I remembered reading on this board sometime back that members got a
discount off Boardwalk regular room rates. However, I was just told by member services
that no discount exists. Has anyone tried to or gotten such a discount. We have family
that will be staying the same time as us next year and we would like to book them
at a discounted rate if possible. Thanks!

According to the member guidelines, you can get a discounted cash reservation at a DVC resort *IF* someone listed on the deed of ownership of DVC stays in that room. So, you could book a room for your relatives with your points and book a room with the cash discount for yourself. (This applies only to the villas; there is no DVC discount for Boardwalk Inn.)

The DVC members discount is 25%- subject to availability. It is rarely available anymore.

In theory, at OKW and BWV, all rooms (except the few held by DVD) will be reserved using points and no rooms will be available for member cash reservations.

In practice, during some slow times, there may be some availability for the discount. Don't be surprised if it is unavailable, however.

And sometimes there are other discounts that are even less than the 25% member discount.
